Either survival is too easy for humans, giving them less of a reason to live for, or maybe since we're so used to the easy life, even minor set-backs cause us to feel as if life is un-bearable.

i can understand your point on the topic of "emo" but self-injury is a psychological illness. and people who cut themselves or even have that need to point things at themselves need help. not recognizing this need for help is just being stubborn/close minded to the truth.

I'd beat my child if he wanted to be emo. I'm okay with any life style or fad, even if he is bi or gay but not emo.

I agree with you to some degree. Every generation has its trend but I think purposely forcing/faking depression to fit in is just beyond stupid. Also I draw the line at tight jeans. Tight jeans on men just aren't meant to be. Like peanut butter and bacon.
