Vote accordingly (applies to wet shaving only or in another words..you use a blade, not an electric shaver).
The choices are shaving with the grain, across/sideways, or against the grain.

Of course if you shave with the grain and then against, then that counts for against. If you shave with and then sideways, that is sideways, etc.

And if you want to post what you use, then feel free! I use a Gilette Fusion and shave with and then against the grain, but I get redness sometimes...Im going to try shaving across and see how it is. (I'm 16 turnin 17 soon, shaving with the grain I still have lotsa hair on my face) I'm Indian if that matters..we are hairy.

If I've taken a shower, which softens the hair up more, I shave against the grain.

If I haven't taken a shower I shave with the grain.

I shave w/ than against, but I only shave like 1 a week (if that).  I'm currently using one of those over hyped 8 bladed titanium suck ass razors (fusion I think, it's all orange and swirly),  I'm stuck with that cause I ran out of Bics and forget to buy more at the store.

I use a Mach 3 with some sort of AA battery powered vibration action going on. I generally shave against the grain unless I'm feeling pretty lazy or my face is extra irritated (sensitive skin). Also I only shave once or twice a week, when I have to work and its getting pretty long.

The only time I never get razor burn is when I go with the grain. Supposedly, and now I believe it too, shaving against the grain just aggravates the skin.

On my neck, I go with the grain and THEN against the grain.  Try it, you'll love it.

On my face, I go with the grain.

Gillette Fusion is totally awesome.  Except the price on the razors.

I shave with the grain. I've been using one of those fusions. they sent it to me in the mail for free, so I figure I might as well use it.

With the grain. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to go against the grain, but doing so definitely gets you a closer shave.

With the grain.

I'm using a Fusion right now, but only because they gave me one at EB Games when I bought Zelda (one weird promotion...). I normally use Schick's three-blade razor, and the disposable variety. When the disposable version costs half as much per razor as the refills cost, you know there's a problem.

The Fusion gives a slightly cleaner shave but it also requires more time, since the blade doesn't bend around my chin.

I'm 15 and shave every other day (Most of my friends havn't even started yet, or do so very rarely, also).. but I use an electric at the moment, may switch to the bladed ones and see how it goes, heh. Anyway, I dont know yet, currently use electric.
