Please define "shallow and empty" more clearly. Life devoid of meaning? No direction? Lack of inherent existence? Realization of impermanence?foxhound_fox
Life devoid of meaning/lack of direction
What you've been doing in life seems so meaningless, and you don't know what to do anymore
everything you enjoyed now feels like crap
I think you mean "teen angst" there buddy.wrlyy
No I don't mean that buddy, this is something even a buisness man can feel a void in what they are doing for life...
but I wasn't clear on that sry
m not sure i follow you...but i looked at life as useless at about 13, and i also looked at the way the world works fresh (like how horrible it is lol)
im 16 now and i still look at my life badly all the time, i worry about things, then look at how stupid it is to worry about that....then how stupid EVERYthing is.
blackngold) That's awesome!
Bet it was cuz you found out that OT WEBCOMIC was coming out soon! JK JK

Well, this thread is certainly very cheery and fuzzy.
I used to be very depressed in my teenage years and often had trouble rousing the ability to get out of bed. But I've since gotten past that, and now find life fulfilling, on the whole.

Probably around 15 I realised that everything that I am, everything I do, think and believe and everything others do is meaningless and trivial in the great scheme of things... But then I realised it doesn't matter that life doesn't matter and got over it and am now happily living my trivial and petty life. :)
You realize not everyone is depressed like you right? On a related note I AM depressed and to answer your question 16.gobo212
This involves people who are depressed I should have typed "Have You..." shouldn't I?
Around 12 when i discovered punk and heavy metal music.X360PS3AMD05You apparently discovered teh wrong type of heavy metal. Punk I have no defense for.
Even when I was a young child, I often it brought it up to myself, but I never really faced up to the fact that my life was pretty much useless until I was about 14. Fortier
a young child? wow....
[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]Around 12 when i discovered punk and heavy metal music.blackngold29You apparently discovered teh wrong type of heavy metal. Punk I have no defense for. Mindless thrash metaler who thinks life is all about drinking, doing drugs and having sex with lots of women?
Never. I'm not a shallow person. I'm more of a bottomless pit. :|MissRiotmaker
he said nothing about anyone being shakllow, he said life. and my life is very shallow right now; wake up>>play games/go on computer>>>work>>hang out with friends (sometimes) rinse, wash repeat.
About the age of 17.
Wallowing in the missery of an all boys Grammar school, I had just realised that not having a girlfriend or any meaningful social contact with girls was not actually enjoyable or something I wished to continue.
Oh, and I was a little overwieght and a weak ass.
So, I did what any self respecting male would, slapped myself and declared an end to any weak-ass emo thoughts and got myself some dumb-bells, a bench and a barbell and started to exercise.
