Hunter x Hunter 2011 and rewatching Gintama as always!
Haven't watched a "new" anime in two years, I feel like I've outgrown it, or it's just because most recent animes are either generic crap, softcore porn, have german words thinking they're awesome or they're trying too hard. I swear, I wouldn't be surprised if they create their plot summary by pressing Random on Wikipedia over and over.
Just let me pick a completely random anime here...
Ok, some anime called Hyouka, here's the summary: "Oreki Houtarou is a minimalistic high school boy. One day, he joins the Classic Literature Club at his elder sister's request.
There he meets Chitanda Eru, Fukube Satoshi, and Ibara Mayaka. Chitanda is a calm beautiful girl but she turns into an embodiment of curiosity once she says, "I'm interested in it (Watashi, Kininarimasu)". Fukube is a smiling boy with a fantastic memory who calls himself a database. Ibara is a short girl and is strict with others and herself. She loves Fukube, but he always dodges her approaches. "
"????", that's all I have to say...

how you liking the new hunterxhunter?
ive found no one else thats watched it.
that said, I'm enjoying it immensely.
I've seen the original HxH like 4 times and it's one of the earlier animes I've watched so I have quite a nostalgic connection to this show and therefore totally biased.
I think the new Hunter x Hunter is ok. I actually prefer the original because it has some things that do bother me, it feels more childish but I do appreciate the high quality! I am definitely enjoying it though because they are continuing it and it has high quality picture so I am also enjoying it immensly!
Some things that do bother me though:
1) Some scenes in HxH aren't in the 2011 one, like the stranded island. I liked that, it was nice change of pace.
2) the original felt darker and I liked that
3) They've sexualized Hisoka way too much, he's just not a creep in the 2011, more like a creepy pedo
4) I kinda dislike when shows always have to use weird names for their attacks and I don't like that HxH 2011 added that. An example is the girl that kiss others, it's not just a kiss but: "INSTAAANTTT LOVAH VAH VA VAH UUUGHAA~~~~~¨"
5) I think they should've used better animations during fighting scenes, some are either inferior or almost identical...
Edit: as you might see, since I've watched anime for so long, I've grown very picky. Very few shows interest me these days and I tend to just stick to rewatching old favorites, for example like Scrapped Princess!

yeah 2011 follows the manga directly, while the 90s one was only loosly based on the manga.
i totaly agree the show should be darker though, to much censorship.
ps when it comes to hisoka, hes not half as creepy as he is in the manga.

Is he as pedo-ish in the manga as well? Have you seen arena fight with Gon and Hisoka in 2011? I mean, he pretty much orgasm'd himself, they showed some crotch shots on Hisoka and I am fairly sure he said something about how he would love to completely break Gon and they kept that kind of stuff going for like a whole episode?!

the entire point of hisoka is that he is a homosexual pedo.
A few weeks ago I finished watching Clannad and now I'm on Clannad: After Story. Been enjoying these a lot, the only other animes I've ever really watched were Sailor Moon, Pokemon and Digimon when I was younger. It's like I'm stepping into a new world of entertainment.
Was going on a Dragon Ball and a Dragon Ball Z marathon of watching all the episodes again last year, but stopped watching both after awhile (DB: A little after the first tournament was done. DBZ: The start of the Buu Saga).
I watched maybe 10 episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho last year, and kind of just moved on. Forgot how sad that show was in the beginning lol.
Still want to get around to watching all of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood sooner or later.
But I'm not currently watching any Animes.
I never really got into anime aside from watching all the DBZ episodes when I was a kid. And some Gundam Wing.
Other than that, the only anime I really want to watch again to get me back in it is this one I saw with Wu-Tang Clan. It's about a two guys, #1 and #2. And if I recall, the story is that #2 wants to take #1's title... it was really good.
Anyone know the name of that anime?
Any good anime on netflix? Subbed, unless the dubbed is somehow worthy of watching like shin chan.
Just finished summer wars movie, seems like the director jocked his old work from one of the digimon movie segment and fleshed it out.
uh good question, lettuce see
Accel World
Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon
Hyouka
Rinne no Lagrange S2
Campione!
Kokoro Connect
Muv Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse
Shirokuma Cafe
Sword Art Online
Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Phi Brain - Kami no Puzzle S2
not a lot, really gotta get onto the rest of this season. Or I might skip it, my backlog's piling up ridiculously.
I'm interested in watching this one that's called Running Man. The artstyle looks awesome. Anyone reccomend it?
Just watching Sword Art Online atm. Having trouble finding shows I'm interested in these days. =/
Might rewatch Gintama though, in which case 250 episodes will keep me busy a while. :P

Dubbed teh horror! Gurren seems decent dubbed, but I didnt get very far the last time I watched.
Been starting my days off with "Daily Lives of High School Boys" for the past few days as recommended by an OT user. It's pretty funny, but I'm almost done so I gotta move on to something new soon.
