My 3 favorite movies are Seven Samurai, Andrei Rublev, and M.

The first 2 Godfather movies, One flew over the Cuckoos Nest, and The Empire Strikes Back. Oh, and The Exorcist, still, in my mind, the best horror movie of all time.
But there are plenty of movies that get high marks for me like Schindlers List, Ex Machina, the original Alien, Platoon, Rocky Horror Picture Show, American Graffitti, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, etc.

I just saw 13 Assassins, man that was one hell of a movie. Had a bit of everything, really entertaining. It might be one of my favorites as well. I'm a big Takashi Miike fan in general, too.
*minor spoiler*
I loved the hunter/bandit character they randomly encountered up in the hills, but what was up with him? Was he, idunno...divine in some sense? He seemed have an almost whimsical, supernatural aura and ability to him that went just beyond capability and into demi-godhood. I'm wondering if he was a kami or something...like he represented humility, here to teach samurai some general sense and decency (he disliked samurai and wanted to punish them for abusing their stature, iirc)
And that last battle scene, oh man

The theme of God's or demons, wandering among us is in lots of Japanese stories. Usually, like in 13 Assassins, it is not really explained, which I really like. Most Western movies bash you over the head with details like that, and this movie simply left you to wonder.
