Lately I've had Joy Division, The Hold Steady, Modest Mouse and Madvillian on heavy rotation.

I would recommend Shinedown, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, Korn (first 3 albums), Slipknot (first 2 albums), Mudvayne, Chevelle, Red, Papa Roach, Trapt, Days of the New, Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory and Meteora), Alice In Chains, Three Days Grace, and Collective Soul.

I always do. If I see a band I've never heard of I'll quickly Youtube them to see what they're like.

Honestly though, I just posted what I was listening to. People would have to be more specific on what sort of things they like about the music, and not just the band names, otherwise I wouldn't even know where to start.

I was close enough :P. Though even taking a random guess it wouldn't take much to presume it was Led Zepplin, espically when even the time period is right.

Ulver, Disillusion, Agalloch, Cynic, Atheist, My Dying Bride, Blind Guardian, Opeth, Neurosis, Emperor, Between the Buried and Me, and Edge of Sanity are quality bands that I have been listening to a lot.
