I have heard so many dumb things people say it just makes me laugh. It amazes me how some people are so ignorant and think they know everything.

Here are some things I've heard

While I worked at a theater I get so many chubby/obese people tell me their on a diet, example "Let me get a large popcorn extra layer butter, and make it a large DIET coke". Now I was an employee so I couldn't say anything but just laugh.

"I'm following a 12 week program from a book, I can eat anything and lose weight".

At my gym I've also seen some guy run the track with a bottle of mountain dew in his hand. :|

how do you know it was filled with mountain dew? and not something else... like water.

probably shouldn't form opinions of people based on faulty perceptions and little information.

I do love people who go to fast food restaurants and get diet coke. I don't typically drink soda much, but when I do, it's usually a regular coke. Screw diet coke it tastes like ****.

Because it was the same guy who also had a dr. pepper as well. Besides, the bottle had green liquid and was bubbly carbonated. I'm pretty sure it was real mountain dew, not just bottle but he also drinks from the can sometimes. I don't like to judge based on what I see but I mean c'mon it was pretty obvious.

Um, it's just quick burning sugar for energy... It might seem silly, but it's effectively no different to running with a Powerade/Gatorade. Just like it's no different to having candy before a gym session for a quick sugar boost of energy.

Anyone on a serious diet would know that gatorade/soda is banned. Sugar is not an excuse for quick energy.

You know this guy is on a serious diet because...?

From a training perspective, his drinking something with sugar for energy is perfectly normal.

I know of one person who reeeeeally likes beer. She'll go all day saying "Oh no I can't eat that, I'm on a diet" or henpeck at food to avoid eating a lot. Come nighttime that all goes out the window and she's chugging back beers. She doesn't know why she's still fat because she "Doesn't eat that much".

Same with me. But mostly because I prefer the taste of diet coke over normal coke. But then Pepsi Max is nicer again :p

That doesn't mean they're on a diet. It simply means they prefer Diet Coke. You're basically an ass that's making fun of people's preference.

I guess speaking right in front of me saying that they are trying to diet isn't proof enough I dont' know what is.

Gatorade is not that unhealthy; soda, however, is very unhealthy.

Gatorade is sugar filled with high fructose corn syrup. If your on a diet to lose weight, I would not recommend Gatorade. If your an athlete constantly excercising then it would be good. I even use it for dextrose when I work out.

I actually hate it when people stigmatize fast food or sugary drinks/snacks. I didn't do a overhaul to my diet when I lost weight. I starting doing cardio and weight lifting and lost 35lbs. I still drink beer, I still eat cheese burgers, and other junk food.
