What are the lessons you've learned from gaming?

Not to sound a bit mushy, but I just like to know the good lessons that one gets to learn through gaming...To give you an idea of what I think, check out my examples...

Left 4 Dead & Left 4 Dead 2: Teamwork

Need for Speed Series(or any other racing game): It never hurts to let go of the pedal occassionaly

Diablo I, II,and III(TBA): Every piece of coin counts; Perseverance

Shooter Games: FOCUS...

Everything I learned from gaming came from the earlier gens when gaming had difficulty. I used to come to expect to put in hours of work to get to where I wanted, but now it's just a bunch of hand holding for pre teens that can't concentrate for more than 10 minutes unless they're shooting something.

Alas I agree with you, although a little 'time out' of real life is quite therapeutic too.

You have to do everything by yourself.

Even though you are part of an army thousands, the enemy will shoot at you and only you for the duration of the war.

You need to know when to stop.

Counterstrike: If you want s*** done, you gotta' do it yourself.

WoW battlegrounds/arena: If you want s*** done, you gotta' do it yourself.

Quake CTF: If you want s*** done, you gotta' do it yourself.

Unreal Tournament CTF: If you want s*** done, you gotta' do it yourself.

At this point I realized this thesis somehow had to translate well into real life. If I couldn't do something because I lacked the necessary skills to do so; learn the skills necessary.

First Person Shooters -> You always run faster with a knife.

Don't build an orbital elevator near where an alien invasion is going to happen so that when they use their slipspace engines it doesn't go kerplunk all over the earth everywhere.
