Sounds like it. If you're making an effort to fall asleep even when you're tired, I'm very sure you have it. Anyways, I think to get rid of it you'd have to see a doctor and get some medication. I'm not totally sure, but it's best to see a doctor.

Possibly, then again it could just be stress or something to do with the change of the seasons (depending where you live).

First step: Get off gamespot. J/k, that sucks. Theres nothing worse than not being able to sleep for extended periods of time. YOu haven't killed anyone lately have you? That could be eating at you, resulting in sleep loss?.... sorry im no help.

You kinda answered your own question didnt you?? lol

Anyway, i think you should consult your doctor about this if it has been continuing a lot. It can usually be caused by certain events that have affected you, or even medication you have been taking. I cant really pin point it from here. But it is something which should be kept a watch on if it continues.

I am a lifelong insomniac as well. Insomnia is not that you go to bed late. You just do not sleep, or you sleep very little. Or if you sleep, no matter how long you sleep, you wake up exhausted. It sucks hard-core. Worse than any hangover or drug effect. What do I do?

Breathe slowly, not just the normal in/out stuff, but breathe slowly, or hold your breath on the in and out. Wait until it is uncomfortable, I'm not talking about until you turn blue. But slow your breathing down, or hold your breath slightly until your breathing is normal. It will clear your mind, and it will produce sleep.

If it does not work at first, get up and read or game for awhile, and try again.

Another thing, drink plenty of water. You may not be sleeping because your body is craving it.

I've gone through bouts of insomnia at least once a year. Mostly I know when its coming because I hardly get a wink of sleep no matter how much I try to relax or make my surroundings calm/soothing. Once I do get some sleep though I'm still tired as hell so it's a crap shoot. Usually I try to let it pass and it goes away within at least a week (that's the most I can tolerate it) but if it goes past that, I go for the sleeping pills as a last resort -- but I make sure I use the correct amount and not abuse it.

If it's really bugging you though and if you think it's an extreme case, then I suggest seeing a doctor about it before trying to handle things yourself.

Put some soccer on the TV. You'll be out like a light in seconds.

Maybe you're trying too hard to fall asleep. Like you're too focused on the fact that you should be asleep, so you'd mind is constantly going with thoughts and keeping you awake. Just calm down and let it come.

I also have trouble sleeping so I looked online about it and some doctor said that if you can't sleep the last thing you should do is lay in bed awake. You should stay close to the bed and watch TV, read a magazine, listen to music and stuff like that and you'll get tired.

I thought I had insomnia awhile back, I couldnt sleep and when I did it was only for like 2-3 hours. I think the best way to have a good nights sleep is be very active all day. When I have busy days or go out and have fun with friends Im always really tired at night and fall asleep fast.

I usually don't advice someone to "cough cough" watch a uwe boll movie but house of the dead or alone in the dark will put you to sleep
