well I've seen KFP and have no interest in seeing the others.....so there you go......btw...KFP was a great family movie...
Kung-Fu Panda already opened to a $60 million weekend last week. As far as this weekend, Hulk will be the winner, while the happening will more likely open third. Just a prediction.
I'm looking forward to Hulk, Panda looks interesting, but I;ll wait for it on DVD. I'm not even interested in The Happening.
The Happening. It looks creepy, and the image of the bodies falling off the building is haunting.
I do plan on seeing the Hulk at some point, just to support the love of my life, Ed Norton
Kung Fu Panda is a great animated film.
I still want to see the Hulk but I have no desire to see the Happening.
None of them interest me, really. Kung Fu Panda reeks of Dreamworks' typical top billing and pop culture references. The Hulk...well, I'm sorry, but Norton is a bigger weenie than Bana and it looks like they're going more for explosions than story in order to grab ahold of the average moviegoer's ADD.
And The Happening...well, I've already seen two movies that consist of an hour and a half of M. Night masturbating furiously behind the camera, and I have absolutely no urge to see another one.
The CGI in the Hulk looks pretty iffy, but I really like Ed Norton, so I'm skeptical of that one. After a number of duds, I don't really have a mountain of faith in M Night Shyamalan, so I'm not really expecting The Happening to be spectacular. KFP is the clear winner on my interest meter:D bman784It actually got 3 1/2 stars in my local paper, which is surprising obviously. But unfortunately I don't feel like I got my movie trip worth unless someone gets killed.
What's weird is how similar "The Happening" looks like that one movie "The Invasion" with Nicole Kidman. They both show people falling off of buildings and not talking to each other in fear and whatnot. I wonder if it's just a coincidence the movies look so similar. camreeno360
What I find annoying about The Happening are the commercials that are constantly boasting that this is M. Night Shamalyan's first R-rated film. It seems that they are constantly bringing that up to cover for the fact that this might have a weak story.
Trust me.DJ...Panda was suprisingly good.......the artwork and story were actually really great.....one of the better CG films in a while....and I'm not a huge dreamworks fan myself....None of them interest me, really. I've heard it's not as bad as I'm expecting, which is good - though I'll still wait until it hits DVD to watch it.
What's weird is that I can't even think of any movies that I absolutely must see this summer, other than Wall-E.
I enjoyed Ironman....Indiana Jones was a big meh...I am looking foreward to Hitchcock (the previews look hysterical) and the Dark Night....I've heard it's not as bad as I'm expecting, which is good - though I'll still wait until it hits DVD to watch it.

So you're saying they're trying to use some marketing scheme by showing they're a "cool and badass" R-rated movie, because they know their movie itself might not be any good? Therefore they're trying to compensate for the potential failure in the movie by reaking in cash for the fact that it's gonna be R-rated?[QUOTE="DJ_Lae"]I enjoyed Ironman....Indiana Jones was a big meh...I am looking foreward to Hitchcock (the previews look hysterical) and the Dark Night....I've heard it's not as bad as I'm expecting, which is good - though I'll still wait until it hits DVD to watch it.

The Dark Knight looks good, I forgot about that.
Indiana Jones felt more like a parody of an Indiana Jones movie than anything else.
I'll also be dragged to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 because my girlfriend loved the first one. I'm hoping it's not bad, since other than being chock full of estrogen and sugar the first movie wasn't as mind-numbingly awful as I expected. And I'd totally hit Amber Tamblyn.

Predator: Requiem, and look how that turned out. (Not that I was expecting it to be any good to begin with.) I understand that the studio wants to build up some mystery and tension to promote its film, but reminding us constantly that it's rated R isn't making me excited to see this movie.
I am going to see The Happening because it is made by my favorite director. The trailers looked only "Ok" until i saw that guy lay down in front of the moving lawn mower. I was like  This certainly is different from his other movies.hoola
I know! And the lion attacking the guy in the lion's cage. That made up my mind to what I was seeing.
Incredible Hulk. Ed Norton is a genius.
Plus, I'm not too much a fan of M. Night Shamalamadingdong after 6th Sense. The Village sucked hardcore, and lady in the water bored me to tears...except for Paul Giamatti. That man can do no wrong, IMO.
Side note, anyone know what the Happening is supposed to be about?
What movies has Edward Norton built up all this goodwill for? Fight Club and American History X?
The dude plays Edward Norton in everything he does. History X is probably the only movie where he did something different, and his recent crop of movies have been remarkably terrible.

He's a brilliant actor. I think he's incredibly versatile.
He's capable of playing...
+ A cute, sweet, light-hearted priest in Keeping the Faith
+ An insane insomniac in Fight Club
+ A huge neo-Nazi skinhead (later reformed) in American History X
+ A humble, environmentally-friendly guy in a kid's TV show in Death to Smoochy
+ A small, timid, stuttering young altar boy (with a twist) in Primal Fear
+ A hard, ex-drug dealer in 25th Hour
+ An intelligent but cold scientist in The Painted Veil (complete with flawless accent)
+ A sneaky, lazy, slimy poker master in Rounders
+ An arrogant, young robber in The Score (alongside DeNiro and Brando, mind you)
+ A manipulative, sneaky rat in The Italian Job
+ A mysterious, intelligent, eloquent stage performer in The Illusionist (again, complete with a flawless accent)
etc.
I think he's one of the best modern actors...EASILY.

The commercials I saw were more like "M. Night Shamalyan has made movies before.. this is another one!" :oPlease Log In to post.
