I've read that.

Anyway, I may steal my sister's copy of Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close. I have to get it read by next school year. Nothing like a seven-month start!

Nice, it's a great book.

Have you read the Children of Hurin? I'm half way through it and it is really good. Expands the Turin story very well

Every book thread that is made on here at one point or another mentions these books, I am going to have to look into them the next time I am in the bookstore.

Well I bought the audiobook on iTunes of I Am Legend...Didn't see the movie (but I'm told it's insanely different) but the book is great. I'm on chapter 8 or 9...I was listening to it in my car, but then I decided to try to get back into Metallica and have since listened to nothing else (and my hears have suffered...LOL, the usual ringing has gotten worse).

oooh i saw that at 711, looked interesting...how is it?

As for me, I am reading the entire Dune saga (including Frank Herbert's son's books)...right now I am reading The Battle of Corrin again....for the fifth time. After that I plan on finally reading the LOTR trilogy, even though I wasnt impressed by The Hobbit.

Just bought House of Leaves yesterday...I've still gotta finish "Forever Odd" by Dean Koontz though, it won't take long though, I read fast.

Hous of Leaves on the other hand, looks huge, and that may take a while.

I've only read one series on marines (ultramarines) and I haven't read any since. However I've heard that the HH series is very good.

The best books that I can recommend are Caiphas Cain (it's about a Commissar who is considered a hero by the imperium but he's actually nothing of the sort and tries to get out of the fighting as much as possible but ends up saving everyone, usually by accident. It's extremely funny, especially in the grim setting of 40K).

There's also the Eisenhorn series which is probably the best 40K books I have ever read. It's about an Imperial Inquisitor.
