I'm coming up with a list of good TV shows to catch up on and wanted to see what everyone's favorite shows are to see if anything else catches my interest. Right now on my list are:
-The Wire
-The Sopranos
-Mad Men
-Breaking Bad
- The Shield

Add Deadwood, Friday Night Lights, The West Wing and Six Feet Under to that list, then you're golden.I'm coming up with a list of good TV shows to catch up on and wanted to see what everyone's favorite shows are to see if anything else catches my interest. Right now on my list are:

The Tudors, Supernatural, Blue Bloods, Person of Interest, Southland, NYPD Blue, Criminal Minds, and Lie to Me all come to mind.
also if you like The Tudors
check out The Borgia's.

I thought The Borgias sucked. Was a good idea, but it wasn't very good.

i've seen both the Canal version and the Showtime version. I like both for different reasons, but if i had to choose it would be the Canal version. it's a much darker tone and Borgia's are much more of schemer's. In the Showtime version I feel they play them off a as a bit too nice. Recently i nearly puked from watching the Canal version, there is
an instance where someone gets their tongue cut out, it's done in such a way and so grotesquely that i literally felt my stomach turn inside out and i needed to take a cold shower. it's extremely rare for that to happen to me from a movie or show.
Sons of Anarchy is definitely my favorite show. Start with season one and watch all of the four seasons...and you won't regret it. It's like The Sopranos but a tad bit better. Season five airs in September.
i just finished watching spartacus blood and sand on netflix and going into it i thought it would just be horrible and i would watch one and be done with it and i swear it is one of the finest television shows i have ever seen in my life.
i didn't like the other spartacus series so thought this would just be more of the same but i watched episode one and that thing grabbed me and would not let go.
i'm usually not like that about tv shows and think the vast majority of them a pure drek but man did i ever love that show.
every single episode was better than the one that came before it.
the only really cheesy thing i came across was how they always glared at each other all the time. by episode 3 i was calling it spartacus: glare and sand.
Why does everyone like Breaking Bad? See, I LOVE Chemistry, but I just could not get into that show. I watched the first episode but the main character was so.... eh.... Like he's never actually stood up and done anything except teach something he thought was cool. If he wasn't talking about Chemistry he had nothing to contribute, nothing to say, he always seemed out of place or even condescending. Then he looses his temper at his second job I guess and decides to deal drugs to make as much money as possible to help his family. I really like the concept, but it all revolves around this character who I feel like everyone laughs at because he doesn't quite understand the world he's in, and I feel like it all goes back to the recent trend of doing nerdiness better than nerds. I hate that. I feel like I'm watching this character who has never done anything because he's a nerd, and it pisses me off because I'm a nerd, I hang out with nerds, and its the stuff that we do do (hehe) and can do certain things that are stupid but fun that no other social group ever does. Pisses me off!
Anyway, I've been watching The Walking Dead, Its Always Sunny, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report (best show ever!), The Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock, and a few others. I need to make myself start watching Dr. Who and Arrested Development.
The Star Trek: NG, DS9, Voyager trio
Married With Children
The Simpsons
War documentaries with nice CGI on History International and the Military Channel (eg: Dogfights)
101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow
Spike TV's MXC (I have the season DVDs)
TruTV Speeders

Spartacus is one of those rare shows where it goes from literally the worst thing I have ever seen on subscription television (episode 1) to having one of the most dramatic and gripping stories, and some of the best written characters (Batiatus/Lucretia/Sparty) I've witnessed on TV by the end of the season. The turning point for me is ep 4 "The Thing In The Pit". Also enjoying the hell out of Vengeance right now, too.
the characters act too fcking wacky and unreal. maybe inconsistent wasn't the right word. but when i saw that scene when all three of them were in the car jerkin it i just shook my head. so dumb.If it's not funny at all, how is it inconsistent?

got a major in realism over here

I bet he wishes the news came with a laugh track. And if you have actually had a shared living arrangement you'd find it's closer to reality than anyone wants it to be...
My favorites are The Big Bang Theory and Breaking Bad. The Big Bang Theory is funny whether you're a huge nerd or not. It's better if you are a nerd because then you get more of the references but they usually explain everything very well so you can appreciate it either way.
