couple questions.

we have a shih-tzu named Anna.

question 1.)Do you feed your pet table scraps?

Anna will usually sit at our feet and beg. though she isnt obnoxious about it. she just sits there quietly, patiently waiting.

so when im about finished with my food, i usuall give her whats left, depending what it is. my family members do the same.

Question 2.) is your pet free fed or on a schedule? for those who dont know, free fed, means there is alway food in the bowl 24/7.

Anna is free fed. she had been free fed since we got her at a couple weeks old. she handles it well. she is not fat or overweight. she basically eats when shes hungry, not just cuz there is food there.

So OT:

1.)Do you feed your pet table scraps?
2.)Is your pet free fed or fed on a schedule?

My cat is a skinny little thing for how much she eats. You have to be careful how much food you put into her bowl cause she will eat all of it and then throw it up later, then eat it again cause shes a cat. A very very classy cat.

My dachshund gets fed dry food in the morning a evening. We dont usually let her have scraps or anything, but there are times where she gets bits and pieces here and there.

ah forgot to mention, we even use her as a vacuum cleaner:P

like if we drop something on the floor, or spill something, instead of throwing it away, we just call Anna. all we have to do is tap our foot on the floor and she comes running:lol:.

we have found out that she does not like lettuce:P

Our cats have dry food in their bowls all day. At night they're given a bit of wet food, usually around the same time, so they are kind of on a schedule. Neither cat is overweight because they don't overeat the dry food. They'd prefer wet food all the time. The boy cat will eat the girl cat's wet food because he's a greedy little guy. The girl cat tries to snatch up bits of bread when she can. Occassionally we give them just a bite or 2 of chicken or tuna fish and they go crazy for those.

1) No. My last cat got sick and died because we fed her turkey without realizing it was going to kill her. 2) I used to let her get it whenever, but the vet says she needs a diet. So now I regulate her food daily.

My dog gets NO table scraps. Not after our last dog died of diabetes at 5 years old. (probably genetic but I'm not taking the chance, plus it leads to begging which is annoying)

He gets fed 3 times a day, about a cup and a half a bowl. I leave his food in his bowl until he eats it, but usually he eats at 6pm, 8pm, and 10pm. For some reason he doesn't like to eat in the morning.

I'll give my dog some leftover meat on occasion or something, but I don't feed her a bunch of stuff like that, no. No leftovers at all for the cats... they're too picky and would probably just end up throwing up or something. :P My cats and dog always have dry food available, but I feed them canned food every evening.

I try not to give my German Shephard too many scraps, just a little. Other people in my family give her more though.
I feed her once in the morning and once at night, it makes it easier to avoid bloat.

I have a beagle. If anyone has ever had a beagle you will know that you cannot have food out for them all the time. She is fed twice per day, once in the morning and again early evening. I work very hard to control her weight, but it it is difficult because this dog will eat anything, and I mean ANYTHING. If it has touched food at some point and still smells of that food she will eat it. I have caught her consuming a discarded pizza box on a walk that some ass had thrown on the ground rather than putting in the correct receptacle.

She rarely gets table scraps, and I rarely treat her because her weight management is such an issue. She is exercised regularly for 2 hours every day, and still I struggle to keep weight off her. Beagles are very very greedy. My vet told me that the breed is very prone to just eating and eating and eating, it seems to not recognise the signs that it is full.
