What are your quirks?

I'm quirky with numbers. My car radio has to be in increments of five or ten and my TV and laptop volume in increments of ten. In first person shooters, I prefer my bullet count to end in an even number, but I don't really care in multiplayer since having a full mag is always important. In single player, I either prefer to reload and have a remaining bullet count in an even number or I just empty all the magazines/clips. All odd numbers except for five and numbers that end in five can screw off. I don't know why I hate odd numbers. Maybe it's because they're odd. O_O

I also like to get in the shower after crapping. Nothing cleans the ass better than a stream of water. Hell, some Japanese toilets actually shoot a jet of water to clean your butt. GENIUS!

@gamerguru100: I don't like being approached by strangers and asked what I'm reading/listening to. What you wrote sounds more like slight OCD than quirks.

It doesn't make me go nuts and interfere with my life, so I'd say it's just a quirk. :)

@gamerguru100: That's why I said slight...everybody has OCD traits, doesn't mean it affects their life...like you said, you don't go nuts over it but everybody has something...liking things in pairs, doing something on the exact same order every times, face all bottles and cans with the label forward, organise things by height, etc...it's perfectly normal...it's when you start not being able to NOT do these things that it becomes a problem.

Everyone has quirks like you guys said. Mine would be whining ( a common trait among my generation I just go a little overboard and sock puppet accounts which again ditto).

I mean there are people with thousands of sock accounts. So I am not too out there and most my accounts were discovered anyways. I basically went overboard on gamespot with my sock puppets. Usually I kept restrained to like under 10.

I blink and move my eyebrows in a nervous way, and I talk really fast. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough that people recognize it in me and poke fun at me :P

I also apparently have an astoundingly mean look to strangers, as if I were gonna murder them, a face which I don't pull when with friends... Can't say why, I never knew it until a friend told me I had looked at everyone really badly the first day of uni...

i suppose pretending to be a cynical lesbian for a couple of years online could be chalked up to quirky behaviour

edit: i somehow managed to forget that i used to have a playstation home account with a virtual female avatar who played out the equivalent of biancadk just on virtual ps home realms. I bought a lot of virtual clothes for her, for real money, which in hindsight, seems like a display of quirky behaviour as well

I can't help but to make fun of stupid people, even right to their faces. I keep telling you guys I'm sort of a dick and I'm not lying. There's no excuse for the stupidity some people wear with pride so I just call it out.

Like on Easter Sunday my sisters friend was all "I can't keep paying these stupid parking tickets" so I was just like "well the intelligent thing to do would be to learn how to park" and she started crying. And yes, I thought it was funny.

I need my time alone.... Doing whatever I want and not to be disturbed.

I don't like my food to touch on my plate, I realize they all go to the same place but I enjoy the different flavors as I feel they are intended.

I only eat one thing at a time from my food. Meaning I only eat all potatoes, then move on to meat then finish with veg. I don't take a bite of this then that.

Volume on the TV has to be at an even number.

I chew things. Like bottle caps, ice, straws. It's a nasty habit, and I'm trying to quit.

Let's see. Hard to think of a specific one when I know I have many quirks. I guess one would be me not able to switch gears between my language at work (professional attitude) and say, here at GS. They're one and the same. I can't do the being professional at work thing and then switch to texting crap here.

I also like to be direct to the point. I've seen so many thread titles here at GS to be misleading. It'll say one thing on the title and then say something else altogether in the content.

I don't really like being randomly approached by strangers period ;) Waiting at a busstop does not mean I feel like engaging in 10 minutes of smalltalk with someone I don't know. Well, maybe if it's a pretty girl but it's always middleaged men ;)

I also have shifty eyes.

I tend to bite my knuckles.

I like to compartmentalize (is that even a word?) my food. It's especially important to have gravy/sauce in a seperate bowl, so the food does'nt get "dirty."

I wash my hands about 20 times while cooking a meal.

I try not to step on the lines when walking on sidewalks :)

I can take cuts and bruises, but a fever or something like ankle-pains will turn me into a child.

That's just off the top of my head I guess :)

I don't like calling or being called for wishes like Happy Birthday etc

I find it annoying when I'm working with others on pieces of code and they don't pay attention to proper aligning and formating the lines or spaces between elements even if it's not a hindrance to work with.

When I'm waiting for change and reach out with my hand but the other party simply ignores it and leaves the change on the desk.

@MlauTheDaft: I don't mind small talk with a stranger and I have been approached by pretty girls, but when they ask me what I'm reading I feel oddly violated and look at them like "This is my private world, why would you try to pry into it?". It borders on the ridiculous.

@korvus: I don't really think it's that ridiculous... Since you're actively reading, they're intruding on your time and then you get to spend 5 minutes of potentially increasing awkwardness, explaining something that they might not understand anyway. It usually makes me forget what I've read the last 10 minutes, which is why I rarely bring educational books.

It's especially rude because they're asking for your attention while it's clearly concentrated elsewhere, for nonsensical reasons.

@gamerguru100: I like my tv volume to either end in a 0 (i.e. 10, 20) or a 5, or 12. If 12 is too quiet I'll go to 15, but I feel weird if it's at 14 or 16.

Also when I go down the stairs at my house, when I get to the second-to-bottom stair, I jump down instead of walking over the bottom step. When I go up a certain group of stairs at my uncle's house, once I get up to about a quarter of the way up, I crawl on my hands and legs the rest of the way up instead of walking.

At night when i go to the bathroom, i leave one eye closed the whole time im in there.
