I tend to enjoy them very much. Especially w/ peanut butter, occasionally with caramel.
And I prefer red apples over any other, green apples suck booty.

You can't beat a home grown apple.
I prefer a crispy apple. Empires and Cortlands are best for this.
Macintoshs can get mushy easy. A crip Mac is unbeatable.
Granny apples are awsome.
Crispin are great if you like big apples. Can be used for both baking and eating.
You can make applesauce easy with a microwave, water, and macs.
Jona Gold are good. Goldens are good too, but again, they can be mealy.
A really gross snack i watched on kid show was sliced apple, a slice of cheese, and cinnamon. Try it with real chedder for better.
If you put chedder cheese on Apple Pie, it ROCKS. I learned this from the movie 'needful things'
