Is revenge morally justified if you've been wronged?

 Same. Always seems a good idea when you're mad but luckily that fades.
It is something I always think about doing when I am angry, but it is also something I am never able to go through with, thankfully, I guess.

I have lost count of how many times I have told one of my friends "Oh man, it would be so sweet if I did that". Then, a few days later, upon talking to me again they will ask me if I did it, and I just say "no" to their disappointment. :P
My guess is that it feels sweet initally, but then you come to deeply regret it.
I'm kinda in the Liam Neeson department of revenge.Wilfred_OwenYou travel across continents and fill anybody who stands in your way with lead until you have the head of the person you hate on a stick on your lawn?

Agreed...Then there's the fear of the revenge on the revenge. It can be a vicious cycle.Revenge is something this world doesnt need but because the world is imperfect we so want to have revenge for even the tiniest of attacks against us.
What do you mean? Like if someone plays a prank on you , i would get revenge. If you get me now?
Only if its for fun mrmusicman247

I do not actively take revenge, I just pray for their eternal damnation.
That was a joke. But in all seriousness, I have the understanding thatthe state and/or by God willact towardwhatever justice is required. As such, I do not worry about such things and always work towards forgiveness and reconcilation.
I don't like revenge. Let karma take care of everything!poysandersSame here. But once in awhile a nudge helps in certain cases.
What a bunch of p***ies.
Revenge is the only way to teach a person who has wronged you that f***ing with you is a very bad idea. Otherwise, people walk all over you with no thought to your feelings or well-being. Do it right, and no one but the victim will ever know or suspect, and he'll be too f***ed up to try anything on you ever again.
"Oh, but it's not justice!!! It's just a poor emotional response!!!" News flash: we're not f***ing Vulcans or robots... we're human beings. We have emotions... we have feelings... no one wants to hear "it's okay, justice will be served" when you've been beaten within an inch of their lives, or "God will punish them" when you find out your girlfriend cheated on you.
"Turn the other cheek"... only after I make sure you have no hands to hit it with. I'll absolutely forgive you for wronging me... but only after I see you lying in a pool of your own blood, apologizing.
It is part of what humans call justice and part of your law and punishment system.
I wouldn't consider it as being part of justice, rather a necessity for emotional beings until we find a better alternative for emotional relief.
It seems people are struggling with revenge, because they no longer use public execution as entertainment but they do uphold some sorts of unseen revenge. It is like they are ashamed of their need for revenge, yet they still require it.
