What are your thoughts on this band?

This is my friends' band, I made a thread about them a while ago when they asked me to, but I decided to make this thread. They have just released a second demo (Lad's Night Out) and I think it is significantly better than the first (Merry-Go-Round), as good as the original was.

The tracks from Lad's Night Out are:

-Only She
-I Can't Stand This
-Complete Disregard
-Place Your Bets on 4

The tracks from Merry-Go-Round are:

-Fishbowl
-Won't Be Long
-Bobyn
-Take Some Action

I just realised only Fishbowl + the second demo tracks are on the myspace, so you won't be able to listen to all the songs to compare :(

Please have a listen anyway and tell me what you think, any comments are much appreciated :)

Plenty of much bigger bands use myspace.

Its a bit too cliched for a new band to use MySpace. The bigger bands usually use them after they have gained some popularity.

Anyway, I took a listen and urm, sorry mate, still a thumbs down. Not really my type ;)

Well, myspace is a free platform that allows people to listen to (and download) their music, as well as communicate with the band, so it was perfect for them really. They do have their own site also.

I like some ska, but this is a little too punk-ish for me.

The vocals aren't really doing it for me either.

Sounds like every other geeneric indie band in a post libertines world. Some of the lyrics are quite terrible e.g Look up **** in a glossary and youll find me, look a second time and youll find me, its all very juvenile. Waste of time.

It's not really an advertisement though, is it?

I'm asking for opinions, not money of any sort. If I were asking opinions of an already well known band this comment would not be made.
