Me?  Seattle

-- Pioneer Square

--The area around the Pike Market.

Both are major tourist attractions for Seattle, and they are more than ok to visit during the daytime.  

--Some areas of Capital Hill.

--Some areas of First Hill. 

I live on First Hill, and it is more than safe up here, but I would not want to be out too late after dark (same with all cities).

--White Center.

--Burien.

I've never been to either.

Basically, all of downtown. Well it's not so much the hood, as it is drug central.

The downtown area in where I live is full of junkies and hippies, along with one decent comic book store.

i live in what we call the highlands and there are no hoods next to me cause we bought all the property up so they cant build thoses gorilla zoos next to the nice neighborhood i live in

Downtown, under a bridge, that's a freeway, where there is a park where little kids play.  All the hippies hang out there, along with the druggies.  Guarenteed, you walk down there, you will find at least one needle.  Just not right.  Other than that, no bad areas.

My town is a rich suburb of Philly. There are no bad parts except the train station because it's not people from my town there. And I mean, financially and such.

You do know "hood" is just short for Neighborhood.

 

Affirmative.  It's a slang term for "ghetto", made popular by the John Singleton film "Boys in the Hood."

The next town over from me, Peekskill, is pretty much a really crummy, rundown area. Mel Gibson and NBA star Elton Brand grew up there, but you wouldn't want to walk around in most of that town at night. In fact, I lock my windows a lot of the time if I am ever over there. There are some nice areas because the mayor has tried to clean up the area, but most of it is still very dirty and rundown. I am glad I live in a more upperclass, affluent area of the area.

Downtown is where all the drunks hang-out...or pass out if you may.
Then the west side of town called West Flat I guess is the "hood" part of my town.

Man I'm from Gary, Indiana. My entire town is the hood...I guess technically the Miller area isn't, but it's close enough.

Well mine is nice, but not nice at all at night,

theres forest lawn and east villiage, which have a lot of stabbings and shootings.

I used to live in L.A. and you all probably know there are a lot of ghettos around there but I moved to Santa Clarita and its the total opposite, rich suburb mostly.

well, i live in the suburbs, its a pretty wealthy area too, so the are no "hoods", and anyone that acts gangsta isn't, it's quite annoying.

Esquimalt is the area of Victoria that gets the worst rap (and with damn good reason, it's a hole).

The northwest edge of downtown (Selkirk, I believe) also gets really sketchy at night. Skip that industrial area unless you want your face caved in.

I live in L.A and there are some parts that just plain ugly, downtown is full of freaks at night, hollywood is also full of freaks at night too since all these clubs are open and such but I guess people just wanna dance and get drunk, south central is horrible and I feel sorry for my friend who moved over there. Lots of low life gangsters where I live especially near my high school. They're used to be tons of greasers and skins back then but not anymore.
