For me, Nirvana takes the cake. Before I start on why, I will admit their Unplugged album is a masterpiece. But my reasoning is simple; First, I first and foremost am a fan of Guns N Roses, and I just do not like the way Cobain insisted on disrespecting them and their music. Second, I also don't like the grunge mentality- the burned out, wasted, "I want fame but I refuse to admit it" attitudes, etc. I also as a guitar player am not a fan of the sludge-y tones that are so present in grunge and Nirvana.

Go at it, OT.

I honestly thought you would mention The Beatles and this would turn into another "Beatles thread."

I don't hate The Beatles...:| But I do think they get more praise than they deserve. Perfectly harmless pop.....was actually debating on getting the complete remastered set.

  • Metallica (way overrated musicians)
  • Aerosmith (can't stand Steven Tyler)
  • Green Day (I like their old stuff though)
  • U2 (again, I like their old stuff but I think 90% of their songs sound the same)
  • Led Zeppellin (what I've heard from this legendary band sounded really boring to me)

There are probably more.

I don't really hate a lot of bands. But I do hate Green Day. Not really getting how putting on eyeliner and plucking 3 chords for 3 minutes is appealing.

You know, I am not usually the type of person who will stop listening to a song because of a singing voice. Well, I used to say that until Maroon 5 came into my life. That guy's voice is horrid. I don't really hate the band, just his voice..

Kurt didn't like Axl and vice versa. Axl just felt hurt because Nirvana refused to tour with them. I'm sure you've heard that youtube video of him complaining and then claiming that their baby will turn out to be deformed because they are junkies while Axl had a habit himself. I'm both a Nirvana and Gunners fan though. When it comes to personality though Kurt wipes the floor with Axl.

Not at all. Axl was never upset because they refused to tour with them, he felt that way after Cobain publicly snubbed them and their music. With his, "There's always been an Axl Rose" comments and such. And I would counter that personality statement, but I can't, seeing as I haven't met either on in person :P Have you?

No. Kurt died too early. My pops saw GNR in 1992 when he was in a hotel in Hartford for business. Only saw Slash and somebody else. A good friend got backstage for one the Chinese Democracy tours though and was sort of pissed off that the area was still sort a shady drugs and rock n roll type atmosphere. He didn't say Axl was abusing but apparently it wasn't a nice booze only after party by everybody.

Anyway here is the link I was refering to.

That song was okay for his voice. I think that's probably wrong as to why I wouldn't like his voice... most of the Maroon 5 songs I heard are like dance popish.... I still think his voice is ehh... but yeah some artists just need to stick to one genre that fits them best.

[QUOTE="ArmoredCore55"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"] Out of his list...The Beatles are the only ones I'd disagree with....LJS9502_basic

You like The Beatles? :o

I don't dislike them......they are okay. Why does everyone think that?

I like them, but they're not one of my favorites. And glad to see that you respect for what they do/did for music.

nirvana, acdc, led zepelin, pink floyd, the beatles, guns n roses are the top of my list for the biggest disparity between my dislike and their popularity. I always feel that 90% of people who even think they like this stuff only says so to fit into a crowd of mainstream music connoseur wannabes.
