My friend has an Expedition, it's an suv made by Ford. The place we're planning to take it to is technically within a park but it's not really a park. It's a wooded dirt road that stretches for about a half of mile, it links 2 baseball fields. At night there are no lights and the trail is heavily wooded. The nearest legal ATV trail is about 2 hours away in upstate new york and also 40 bucks to use it just for 1 day. I understand we're not suppose to be off roading in the trail, what would happen if we get caught? i mean it wouldn't really be trespassing since it's a public space. Would we get arrested, a ticket, or what?

I would guess at a ticket or fine... Arrested would just be insane.

Summary execution by sustained application of a Taser is a very real possibility. :o

Infractions against the environment are viewed in a very serious light in Obama's America.

You shouldn't worry about it so much.

Just try your best not to get caught and there shouldn't be a problem.

Probably fined. Might get some points on his license if they do that in the US.

As a beach ranger, which is a bit like a park ranger except beaches instead of parks.... I don't know.

If someone was offroading on the beach and they didn't have LIFEGUARD written on the side of the vehicle then i'll take a snap shot of their car, making sure to track the licence plate and try to get a landmark in the photo. Afterwards a letter will get sent to the owner of the vehicle, which will then result in a fine of anything from 60 to 1000 pounds, or more if they caused any serious damage.

I guess parks are the same. It doesn't have to be a council worker who catches you either. Anyone in the joe public can do it. Some locals take pride in their place and get seriously annoyed if they see someone trashing their land.

There are some places in the world where they would :P Actually in Cornwall there are a few farmer fields where they do that. "Get off my land!"

it was fun but what happened was, wellwe were drifting in the baseball field at 1am and the front left bumper hit the gate beam of the dug out. The driver's side door is stuck and won't open now, we must get in through the passenger side door. The girl who owns the expedition is mad at me, she has ignored me ever since last night. Other than that, it was fun, the expedition is a nice suv to off road with
