So what is the most important thing you look for when casting your vote for the president of the United States?? Are you all about the economy, hoping that maybe we wont become China's biatch? Do you go all in for those who proclaim Jebus, most of the south does. How about foreign policy and policing the world? Are you looking forward to another conflict, perhaps with Iran? Afterall Iraq has died down a bit and what speaks America more than a few rounds of missles on civilians. Or maybe you just want a president that screams hottness so much that you want to make lewinsky look like a saint.

Everything overall... To vote for a President for only one reason is kind of stupid...

All of the above. The importance of certain issues are stressed more than others on occasion.

If there aren't any world wars going on the economy is always by far the most important issue.

What determines whether I wish to vote for someone is whether or not the person is Ron Paul. But all joking aside, there are a variety of issues across various areas of government that I believe are of importance to me. However, I am morally incapable of voting for someone who is pro-choice.

I guess the big thing is what they say when they speak, the things they promise, or their observations. A good politician is like a comedian, a comedian points out that thing that you hate and articulates it in a way you never thought of and completely agree with. Only difference is one of them is serious.

I like Obama because of the things he says in his speaches. The only thing that sucks is that he doesn't always do what he says.

Why are you so pro-life? I find myself being neutral/undecided on the subject, they are good arguments for both sides.

I vote based on how mucht they support the issues I care about. I want green energy to be a thing they support, I want them to respect other culture and improve foreign relations, support equality, be intelligent when they make a speech/give an interview, and use logic when making decisions.

Political party.

If you are conservative. Vote Republican.

If you are liberal. Vote Democratic.

Anyone who strays from this path is only making things worse. Like all those independents that voted in Obama then went to vote in a bunch of republican congressmen. Counter-productive no?

First and foremost, I prefer to not doubt the sanity and/or competence of the people involved -- quite a few of the people in the GOP primary had me quite concerned in that regard. In terms of policy, economy takes precedence, followed by foreign policy. Social issues, although considered after those two, is NOT negligible in the decision process, however.

I vote based on their stance on social issues, which is why I'll probably vote for Obama.

Oh, and I want to smack the people in the head that vote based on a candidates religion.

It's based on all of the above in that poll. I'll be watching the debates later this year too even though I already have in mind who I'm going to vote for.

Ideally, a President who has similar ideals and political leanings, but if he or she is willing to be flexible with all parties, has great ideas for the direction of the country, and is not war-mongering, I would vote for him/her.

Its a multitude of things.. But as it stands the Democrat party seems at least sane compared to what much of the Republican party has become imo.. That is not to say the Democrat party is a bed of roses, they are the lesser of two evils..

Plenty of issues, however I can't bring myself to vote for a party that is so scientifically illiterate and filled with religious bigots. If the republican party ran on a purely fiscal stance then yes I could see myself casting a vote for them. It strikes me as being ignorant to reality.

Some are more so than others. As for Romney, I won't vote for a guy who opposes marriage equality based on religious grounds. That to me is bigoted.
