[QUOTE="dog64"]He claimed to be the Messiah and the son of God. The people who believed him worshipped him and that continues to this day. He also performed many miracles, which would make anyone famous.mohan88Did the miracles work? Really make anyone famous?
He cured the sick, raised the dead, brough sight to the blind, and many others. Many also view his death as a ransom for our sins, so that's why he's famous. This is all in the bible.

Wow i did not even know that.Jesus did many things, but some of the greatest things He did. . . .
Was teach.
Jesus had a remarkable way of telling metaphorical stories to explain God and the future. Many of the people who followed Him followed Him because of His teachings.
And of course, there were the miracles.
He cured a blind man by spitting in mud and wiping it into his eyes. He raised a man who was dead for four days back to life, in front of a croud, no less. He changed water into wine, He walked on water, He cast out demons, He calmed a storm, and more.
But what Jesus did that makes Him famous, more famous than any other human who ever lived or will ever live is He died.
He was wrongly convicted for blasphemy by the priests of Jeruselem. He was brought in front of Pilate, who was more than convinced of His innocence. He was chosen to die by crucifixion by the Jewish people in place of a known murderer. He was whipped horrindously, He was crowned with thorns, He dragged a heavy cross up a hill, He was nailed to that cross, by His hands and feet, and, after nine hours on the cross, He uttered His last words: "It is finished"
He was stabbed in the side by a Roman soldier, and water ran out along with blood.
He was buried in a tomb, and the tomb was sealed to keep the Apostles from tampering with His body. But three days later, on what is now Easter day, the tomb was opened, and two women saw inside the tomb two angels, who said that Christ had risen again. The women went and told the Apostles, and the Apostles met Him, and He stayed with them for a while before finally ascending to Heaven.
All of this is in the Book of Matthew.
[QUOTE="FrozeN__54"]Made lots of food out of one piece of bread and fish.... or something.ErasornI thought he made water to wine. :? He couldn't have done both, could he? :?
He was at a gathering, but there wasn't enough food, so He asked a young boy for his lunch, and He made it turn into a feast capable of feeding thousands of people.
He also turned water into wine, but that was at a seperate event.

the problem with this is, jesus could have just been a really smart guy. for instance, medicine nowadays, even 1000 years ago, would be able to give simple treatments to patients and keep them alive, while in those days it would have been seen as a miracle, or bringing back the dead.

He also did things such as cure people who were crippled for their whole lives. Not even today's medicine can do that.

Well, Jesus is alive and well in heaven, and if you believe in Christianity (Which I do) then he will be coming back for his children to spend eternity in heaven with him, as well with God.

Who hasn't read about Jesus yet? Even atheists know what he did. Two400Rather, what it is believed he did.
Did Jesus ever exist?
Those who believe in God. Can God come to earth right now??
Are you scared of God?
Do you believe in hell and heaven?
I think there is more than 1 God
Do you think that their is God?
Pope "God will punish drug dealers"
Those who believe in God. I have one question for you guys......
Do you believe in Bible?
Do you believe in God or Do you believe in science?
Jesus VS all other religious Gods
Believe me now? This guy is obsessed with asking questions about Jesus/God. Its all he makes topics about...

From what i see he was tortured by some people long long time ago and i watched the movie "Passion of the Christ" it was good movie, but i really did not like when jesus was tortured in that movie. So anyway what did Jesus do that i did not know of? mohan88he died and rose from the dead 3 days later:?
Jesus duped a huge number of people into believing his delusional fantasies. Gotta give him credit for that, smart fellow. He was also a magician, so he did a few tricks and made people think he performed miracles, like today's magicians do. He was also extremely dedicated to his delusions/lies, hence the entire dying on the cross with such dignity thing.Gangans
And you know that how? Time machine maybe? Wait until you die before making such assumptions...
Teagukki what you know about me? I made a lot topics, only some with God and Jesus. No i do not hate jesus or God, i just want people opinions what they think about God and Jesus. mohan88
Show some diversity in your topics then. If you want to know about God then read the Bible, and ask those sorts of questions in one of the many Christian Unions that are here on GS...
Though you may not know it, there are many who believe he is still remembered because he was/is the son of God and his father wants it to be that way;).
Oh, and the raptor thing was hilarious!
...I do find it funny how often people discredit Jesus. His stories may be true, may not be true, may be partly true. But I will tell you one thing that is a certain fact. The 4 recorded accounts of Jesus' life, death, miracles, and ressurection in Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John give more documented first-hand account than ANY historical event in histroy 2,000 years or further into the past.
Next time you are quick to discredit Jesus and what he did, remember there is more recorded original first account documentation on his life than on the death of Alexander, or the War of Rome and Hannibal, or the law code of Hammurabi, or anything else of that age for that matter;)
From what i see he was tortured by some people long long time ago and i watched the movie "Passion of the Christ" it was good movie, but i really did not like when jesus was tortured in that movie. So anyway what did Jesus do that i did not know of? mohan88
He did lots of horrible crap back in the day, like starting the whole Christianity movement that still plagues common folk today.
Thanks to him, sensible intelligent people can't just get on with their life without having to dealing with zealots of that bogus legacy faith without feeling like a**holes in their eyes, what with the influence they still apparently sadly have.
This is one plague that future politico's really need to focus on eradicating.
the above poster is a biggot. It is funny, I do not consider myself a christian, but I do not say biggoted words to them. I do not say biggoted words to people who are not my ehtnicity. I do not say biggoted words to atheists. I do not say biggoted words to people who are different than me. It shows a lack of intelligence. You are a prime example, and I may be wrong, you seem very uninformed.
This is one plague that future politico's really need to focus on eradicating. - sound like something your main man Hitler would say.
