I thought the show was rather boring (something about the same as his "Late Night" show), and not that funny. You?

I didn't watch it. Jimmy Fallon is one of the least funny "comedians" on TV. So the only thing I expect is that NBC will be searching for a new host in a year or two (if not sooner). If Conan couldn't keep the ratings up, Fallon sure won't.

If Leno were to sign with, lets say, Fox, he would probably beat Fallon head to head.

Did The Roots make the move with him? If show, I'll watch the show if only for them.

I've never been a big fan of Fallon, but he's certainly much better than Leno. Craig Ferguson is still my favorite late night personality, followed closely by Conan.

I didn't even know who he was until I just googled him. No I did not watch. I didn't watch when the other guy that just retired was the Host. I know it was either David Letterman or Jay Leno that just retired. I never got into watching them shows. Found them to be rather boring, especially compared to what was on other channels to watch instead.

Craig Ferguson's monologues are hilarious. Definitely agree about him and Conan.

It was better than Leno's Tonight Show I thought, even though most of the show was him introducing the new show and himself to the audience. We haven't really seen and entire episode of the Tonight Show yet. I'll have to see more to see how the show is going to turn out but I think it'll be better than the last several years under Leno.

After the hype, Jimmy Fallon's 'Tonight Show' is strangely muted

‘Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ Debut Ratings On Par With Conan O’Brien’s 2009 Premiere, Beats Jay Leno’s 2010 Return

Jimmy Fallon first 'Tonight Show' rating: Strong, but below Leno farewell

But they don’t reach the sky-high ratings of Leno’s last night as host, which reached 9.2, as he said a long goodbye to The Tonight Show after 22 years as host. And they’re exactly the same as Conan O’Brien’s ratings on his first night taking over from Leno in 2009. O’Brien’s ratings sank quickly thereafter, prompting NBC to bring Leno back after seven months and O’Brien to leave the network in anger at his treatment.

I didn't watch it, but I doubt I would have been impressed. I'm not a Fallon fan at all. Dude seems like a pretty nice guy, but he's just painfully unfunny.

It seems like the majority of these writers forgot that Jay Leno didn't exactly get high ratings when he first started in late night back in '92. It took a few years before he hit the #1 spot against Letterman...Conan never had a chance to even build his audience before being yanked off the air. I imagine it's hard to build an audience when the network you're on guts their entire 10 pm time slot 5 nights a week for the Jay Leno Show. Still wondering what made the NBC execs think that was a good idea.

Because NBC execs are stupid, been on a free fall for more than a decade. Even long standing successful properties like Meet The Press is getting beat by ABC's This Week, Today by Good Morning America. Now we get the trifecta when Kimmel takes over Fallon.

I'm curious on how long Letterman is planning to stay in the late night game. Once he steps down or croaks--whichever comes first--what will CBS do, if anything, to fill his shoes?

Ferguson is my favorite but don't know if CBS sees him as a long term replacement. Which comes to the crux of problem, I don't if late night talk shows have a future in today's day and age. I never watch them, if something extraordinary happens I will hear it and see it on Hulu or Youtube so who cares?

I wasn't even aware that Ferguson was still on the air.

That's part of the reason that NBC dropped Leno when they did. They were afraid that when Letterman steps down Fallon would jump over to ABC as they shuffled around late night hosts leaving NBC with no grounded late night talk show host when Leno were to retire.

I've never been a watcher of the late night shows, but I did see one clip of Jimmy Fallon and John Krasinski doing a lip sync off. It was gold.

I don't have TV, but Fallon is a fairly decent comedian.

Better than Leno by a lot. But that's not an achievement.

And to think, I thought I was among a minority for liking Ferguson!
