I just watched it again this morning and I still like it as much as before. I think I remember it getting bad reviews because of all the blood but who cares if there is alot of blood if the movie is a good as this one.

that depends on which one you are talking about being there are several different films of sweeny todd.
It was disturbing. I liked it and all, but yeah. . .
And why is it that Helena Bonham Carter seems to play only creepy-ass roles--and does it exceptionally well? >_>

LOL EXACTLY what I was thinking throughout the movie.
Are you guys talking about the UK TV movie version? if you are then it was a great movie,it had oh whats his name in it....Ray Winston. that one?
OHHH that one.....check out the UK TV movie of the same name, its great. put me off pies for life.I enjoyed the movie and I'm not into musicals. Johnny Depp has a really good voice.

LOL. I'm just imaging this guy taking notes during the movie and putting his hand to his ear trying to judge the pitch of the actors voices so he could say that.It was ok, singing was pretty bad

It got great reviews. And the people who didn't like it just thought the Broadway version was better.
I love it, but then again I love every Burton movie. I know all the songs. I am pushing for a stage production at my school next year.

I wouldn't throw Film-Guy's movie credibility down the toilet just because he didn't enjoy Sweeney Todd as much as the next guy...

It was meant to be a real 'punch in the arm' type of comment ;)I thought it was pretty good, although I haven't had much interest in watching it again after it left theaters

That is a pretty ridiculous claim... pretty much everyone in that movie is pitch-perfect.
I just think they didnt sound too good. Helena Bonham carter especially sounded like she was trying too hard. I find her quite overrated anyway. Tim Burton only casts her because they are married. Kinda like how the Coen brothers cast Frances Mcdormand but she is better than Helena imo. Also Alan Rickman singing? Really? He is a fantastic actor but why cast him in a damn musical? The singing was nowhere near as good as the various stage versions I have seen. Also I saw Ben Kingsley play Sweeney todd once in a movie and he was much better than Depp.
I'm incredibly squeamish.
Have to say I didn't really like it to much. If you aren't disturb by the blood I can see why you can like it.
