What do people actually find funny about The Big Bang Theory? (tv show)

I mean I've heard people rave and rave about it, so I watched a few episodes, and it was so bad, I'd almost rather watch Full House. I mean the jokes were just lame, unfunny, and unclever. (please don't give me the "they use big words, so therefore the jokes are clever" argument) I felt the characters were WAY too over the top. I have NEVER met a nerd, in my life, that speaks like Sheldon. I noticed the whole premise of the show's humor is having generic sitcom jokes that has been done before and having a laughtrack remind the audience when to laugh. It also has technobabbles, which I kind of stopped laughing at when I was 12. I remember the first time I watched this was with a friend and the only time I laughed were at those (oh I guess that's supposed to be funny, I better laugh cause my friend is laughing) moments. The second one I watched and all the ones after that I just kept a straight face the entire episode. So what do people actually think if funny about this show? Please put your torches down, and instead, enlighten me.

I like it and I think it's funny.That's pretty much it.

Now my precious TBS has Yes Dear, According to Jim and now THIS garbage:cry: 3 of the worst more then one season sitcoms known to man...

More and more stations seem to be picking this terrible show up for repeats of it so I GUESS there are people who like it(I havent met any)

You're right. I don't want people to think that I don't find the theory that the expansion of a single dense particle that created the universe funny.

I laughed at some jokes but not enough to watch it everyday.

Yea, I thought it was really cheesy and the characters are so awkward. There are better shows out there like Community, Modern Family, Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer. Those are my faves

One of the thingsthat makes it funnyto me is that I can recognize myself in it sometimes, if you understand the jokes that need a certain degree of knowledge of the subject matter that makes them funnier. Sheldonmight be an over thetop character, but the mannerisms are still true to life and seeing how such a person reacts to his surroundings makes for awkward/funny situations. For other less nerdy people it might be funny because they wonder how someone could be like these four. And Penny makes for the sexual tension/funny situations (which are a lot more common in comedythough)

In the end it's just a matter of taste.

Its alright, but if it weren't for the occasionaly alright science jokes or cameos it would just be another lame generic sitcom to me. Wil Wheaton as a villain in a Pokemon type game though? That's something worth watching I think, but otherwise its pretty hit and miss.

I hate that show. It isn't funny.

It's not funny, but I like the blonde girl. She has a beautiful face. Real eye candy. She's a real looker.

That show is just plain annoying. Can't stand it. I use to watch it after the new Two and a Half Men back in the day and after a few episodes I just decided I would rather go to bed than stay and watch that.

I find Sheldon funny. But some of the other characters, Priya and Leonard specifically, are quite annoying now. I found the season premiere pretty disappointing.

I like the way the characters play off each other. I find it entertaining. If you don't, TC, then I'm sorry to say you'll have to find something else you enjoy watching.

It is somewhat enjoyable, though I only really watch it because my parents seem to like it. I don't really like chummy sitcoms, they need a good storyline (or A SINGLE storyline) connecting each episode together. (Other than Always Sunny and Community, cause they do what ever the **** they want) Thats why I like How I Met Your Mother.
