They cancelled it because it got poor TV ratings - but bear in mind that majority opinion is rarely a very good indicator of the quality of any form or art or entertainment. In fact, if you look at what's extremely popular in North America, much of it is simplistic and trashy. Just look at reality TV, or Britney Spears and 50 Cent.

Star Wars has the force and Star Trek had way too much technical jargon mumbo jumbo.

Star Trek. The fantasy part of Star Wars with the force stuff was cool in the movies but I'm not into the whole superpower stuff.

I actually enjoy both thoroughly. Star Trek may have tons of continuity errors but I still love it. I enjoy the way Star Trek handles time travel and I enjoy the fictional universe of Star Wars. I think the main Star Trek canon is far better than the main Star Wars canon. The Star Wars movies are decent but are nothing compared to the Extended Universe.

Star Wars -- it knows it's campy; Star Trek on the other hand has no idea how nerdy it actually is.

There's something to be said for being smart enough not to take yourself too seriously.
