Some of my friends refer to their parents by their first name.

I would never be able to do that. No matter how old I get, she'll always be my mother, so I'll always call her madre or mum. And yes, I actually do call my mother "madre" at times. She reacts to it!

Its never too late for a namechange, Jandurin. In most countries the namechanging itself is free of charge (atleast your first name). Dont let something as silly as obstacles presented by your parents to get in the way of your dreams of vikinghood.

Then later on, on the drive home, I called her mom, from a pay phone. Why must that line be stuck in my head? Aaah Blink. So nostalgic. I say "mum" or some form of incoherent grunt depending on how much she's annoyed me.
