Go for it? Regardless of distance? I mean if you both truly have feelings for each other then distance shouldn't be a problem.

Long distance relationships don't work. Sorry, it's true.

Your only real option is to move closer to her. Pack up and go be with her, if she'll have you.

I did the long distance thing... it's like breaking up a little at a time.

This video sums up how long distance relationships end:

Third Eye Blind Losing A Whole Year

Car crash in slow motion, my friend.

it is for her due to her past experiences with Long distance relationships, she wont be in them

Are you sure that you both feel as strongly as you think you do given that both of you moved on to find new relationships and apparently a little bit of distance is enough to prevent even the possibility of a relationship? I'd reexamine just how strongly both of you feel. If you both feel strongly enough, then putting up with some distance and time apart to ultimately be together later should be tolerable. If not, then maybe this isn't what you think it is.

Don't do it. I know someone on another board who was seeing someone long distance and she broke it up because they never saw each other that often, mostly because of her parents saying she can't go see him when he is far away.

keep the long distance relationship and talk about moving in together....or at least near by each other. if that doesn't work then it prolly isn't meant to be and you'll most likely find some one else to go gaga over...

If you were really in love and the feelings were mutual you'd move. That said it sounds like you barely know this person, and the feelings may not necessarily be mutual. You could still move if you really want to. At the very least it doesn't work out and you don't have to regret 'the one that got away' for years to come. I'd say forget it though.

I know I sounded silly and childish, but have you ever felt so strong for someone for even after 4 years. and barely seeing them?

not silly, just sounds like it really hurts. you have to let her know how you feel and move from there. if itz true love then it will find a way...don't sit back letting time seperate you even farther. at least you will know where you stand when you comfront her on this....

Ny to delaware?

Either she's right for you, and it's worth being closer, or it wasn't meant to be. There's always the future. Maybe 10 years down the line you'll run into each other again and she'll have just gone through a divorce and you'll have just had *another* breakup with a vile woman and it'll be perfect timing.

I came in here to say one thing, but after reading your post, I have to say that it seems more than a little bit disingenuous for you to be in a relationship with one person if that person isn't who you really want to be with. So, my revised advice would be to break up with the person you are with since it sounds like you are basically using them.

well I know, but in order to get closer and stay I wanna make sure I have that to support myself if I am going to move out of state

Anyway, I read closer, it sounds like you barely know the girl. She probably isn't what she seems.

I dont barely know her, we've been friends for nearly 4 years, its the seeing her part thtas barley

ohhh. Okay, I see. Well then. I retract my post. :o BTW, that means she's full of it. You're currently in a long-distance relationship, you just aren't "dating". Just saying.

well isn't there a difference between, being friends/being together/ wanting to be together but wont be because of distanceAnimal-Mother
There's a difference, but she's obviously willing to maintain verbal contact with you as a friend even though she can't be near you. Just semantics. That said, would you want to be "dating" someone that you could almost never see? Personally, I would hate it. And I wouldn't do it. I don't even really remain friends (any relationship) with people that are too far to see occasionally.

It's just something to consider, is all. That said, I know someone who did that and regrets it. (moved to girlfriend's college, then she broke up with him after like 6 months or something) You've been friends with her for 4 years, though, which strengthens your position.

Well, if the two of you are in relationships, then how are you going to make it work? In any case, if you DO make it work, buy each other webcams. It helps make the distance not seem that big of a deal.
