Canada.
Likes: The land, the climate (where I live anyway), the economy, peace, some of the people.
Dislikes: Plenty, but what comes to mind right now is that the people can be two-faced snobs while hiding behind a polite and "tolerant" exterior. A general overabundance of political-correctness. French labels.
I'm from the Netherlands.
Like: It's small. good climate. high living standard. Good health care.
Dislike: It used to be a very tolerant country towards pretty much anything, but that went down the drain in the past 10-15 years. High taxes.
Agreed. I love how the phrase "shrimp on the barby" is synonymous with Australia, yet no Australian uses the word "shrimp" :PAustralia.

[QUOTE="EMOEVOLUTION"]a country is a geographical location as determined and constructed by human concepts. besides this, I think very little of any country.o0squishy0oIs this sheldon?
Hahaha.
I've been thinking that for awhile now. :P
England:
Pros: Seemed like a nice place about 10ish years ago. Top universities in the world prehaps? and thats about it.
Cons:
- The horrible amount of political correctness is strangling the country
- No identity anymore. The burker is british (recent statement made my an MP just shows what I mean)
- The never ending push for multiculturism is only based around money (the middle eastern money)
- Health and safety has distroyed what it is like to be a kid and hurt yourself. Not allowed to play conkers anymore....
- We have adopted the Americans sue everyone view if you fall over on a wet surface
- NHS is a big bag of balls
- The typical English person has become an excessive racist and benifit taker.
- Open doors for the forgien people to come and work for in some cases horribly unfair wages
- We pay out alot more to the EU than what gets returned to the "everyday" person.
- Being told you must be tolerant of other peoples views yet it is quite obviously biased.
- The whole east coast of the UK has back water people. Its almost like going back in time 10-15 years.
- Schooling is horrible and the educational system is just plain broken
- The English celebirty is one of who lives in Big Brother + Katie Price (Jordan) & Peter Andre are always in the news with their pathetic lives.
- The X-Factor
[QUOTE="EMOEVOLUTION"]a country is a geographical location as determined and constructed by human concepts. besides this, I think very little of any country.markop2003True but what about your opinion on the geographic location you live? The fact that it is an arbitrary area constructed by humans dosn't matter.
England:
Pro:
- Reasonable economy
Con:
- Celebrity culture
- Reality TV
- Binge drinking
- Political correctness
- Idea that no one should be offended
- Idea that no one should injure themselves
- Fear mongering news, according to the news the streets are solely populated by pedophiles and murderers.
- We pay a lot more to the EU than we get back
- School system has a lot of problems like a curriculum which is physically impossible to teach in the time available and kids which are clearly disruptive are kept in ****(largely because the parents think they're little angels), the support system is complete BS (it's advantageous if you're behind to drop way behind so you get support), they don't attempt to stretch the higher kids
- A lot of idiotic parents around who don't seem to discipline or teach their kids anything
- Dental side of NHS is messed up as technically you're supposed to be able to get NHS dental but the places are incredibly rare
- Public transport outside London is pretty terrible
- Tendency to give people benefits they don't need
