I tell them to shut up!! seriously.. they be the pretty/good lookinggirls too.. I hate when they ask me that stuff man.. annoying as hell.. I also give them that stupid look. or sometimes I would actually say "No, you are ugly to me, I would never talk to you like that".. lol.. i have a ball with them.. damn girls man..c

That's a pretty loaded question.

Is it your wife? Your daughter? Some woman on the train?

It depends on if she is, in fact, pretty.

And what sort of reaction you hope to get from her?

That question represents an opporitunity. Assuming she was pretty, I'd jump on it.

If you say yes, nothing bad can come of it.

If you say no, you're going to get an ear full..

She may have a horse face, but why bother start trouble by telling her that.

Women rarely ask my opinion of how they look, save a couple close to me. I think they're all very pretty, so I compliment them.

I would probably run off screaming or blowing my rape whistle if a random woman approached me asking my opinion of her beauty.

If she's pretty...I'll tell her she's pretty...

If shes ugly...I'll tell her I don't think she's very attractive...

lol i wouldnt dare tell an ugly girl shes ugly.. but for pretty girls.. i dont like to boost their ego.. thats when they start treating everyone else like isht.. i dont support all this superficiality that i was surrounded with in school and friends.. especially the girls.. i will not raise my daughter to be like that.

Heh, my boyfriend used to work in a clothes shop. And on his last day, there happened to be a modelling contest right outside the shop. And loads of girls were coming in, trying on clothes and asking if they were pretty. So he told them they were pathetic ^_^ (As he'd already quit and had a better job, he felt no need to be polite anymore)

There are much more subtle ways of fishing for compliments..... =P

I am female. I do occasionally fish for compliments, but not in an obvious way, if I need an ego boost or something. I used to work in a video game shop, and was the only female member of staff - it was fairly easy to do, and made me feel good about myself=P

My boyfriend can tell if I'm fishing for compliments, no matter how subtle I'm being though..... But I don't need to anyway, because he's sweet and can tell me what I want to hear without any provocation from me ^_^

What a winning personality you have. I can respect your desire to be honest, but not the reason behind it. You'd probably lie if it was beneficial to you, too.

I'd give them an honest response. If they are, they are; if they're not, they're not.

Then I'd explain that my opinion is not necessarily a true reflection of public opinion, tip my hat, and leave. :P

I hate when girls tell you they're fat, but they are clearly not. I've tried to convince them they're not fat (you know, giving them a boost of self-esteem), but they keep telling you that they're fat. It's kind of depressing sometimes.

See, the problem is, in their head, they probably genuinely believe that they are fat, and if you say they're not, they'll assume you're just saying that, to give them the ego-boost, and don't mean it. And nothing you can say will convince them otherwise.
