What do you think about playing basketball or handball without a shirt?

So this summer i'm going to be playing handball without a shirt. Handball is mostly a new york city sport where you hit a hand ball towards the wall and repeat. It's big here in queens. I signed up for the gym in the middle of december 2009, so it's been about 3 monthes. To be honest this is why i signed up for the gym and worked so hard. Pretty much for the beach and to play handball without a shirt. So for the girls here, do you think it's nice when a guy plays without a shirt at a park and to the guys, you think it's cool? would you do it

personally, last thing i want when im playing basketball and im blocking a guy...last thing i wanna feel is his bare skin on my arm

I'd rather wear a cut-off than go shirtless. I don't like being a hypocrite.

For one I barely play sports or work out. Secondly, no, I would not; I'm not at the beach.

the only possible reason i see a guy taking his shirt is to show off....if he wants to do shirtless go to a beach, on a concrete court your bound to get hurt

because before i signed up for the gym i had alot of fat around my belly. I still have some but i'm trying to get rid of it and hopefully get more muscle.

Nothin wrong with going shirtless, you've got confidence then go for it. The only thing I would advise against is if you are obese, keep the shirt on. You might be setting yourself up for some insults if your fat rolls are flopping around every which way and slapping against all the players' bodies, that might get annoying for them.

dude- I say go for it... I'm not too familiar with handball, but if it's possible to get hit with the ball on bareskin, I wouldn't recommend it (like racquetball, definitely keep your shirt on for that sport lol)... but I play basketball bareskin only if I'm playing with friends... but sometimes it's best to keep your shirt off... because everybody knows if you take your shirt off... you're showing off... it just depends who's in the gym at the time lol- if there are plenty of girls go for it... but mostly guys, keep it on, stay modest and save it for later... but why not pick up a sport where you play shirtless, like boxing, or the ever so popular MMA

I dont mind as long as the dude im defending is not fat and slimey. I usually play without my shirt if its nice out, less weight! haha.

Now my thoughts on GUYS not wearing shirts.. well.. if they have the body for going shirtless, then I dont mind a whole lot... unless i am playing against them and they shove their sweaty pit in my face... then its sorta ... ugh. But for eye candy its nice I guess. I think I would more prefer seeing a shirtless bod at the beach or pool, or coming out of a shower... in more.. clean situations where stink/sweat isnt really an issue. Glisteny is sexy.. but glisteny clean is more then sexy.

I don't know about you guys, but I can't stand feeling the stickiness on my armpits when being shirtless.

it was a a joke don't worry. But its still ok to get jealous once in awhile. its human nature after all( like greed for example). just don't let get the best of you.

Never played with someone that was shirtless. I'd assume it would involve lots of chest hair, arm pit hair, and sweat.

it's mostly in bad taste, and the type of girls you'll attract are going to be the ones that'll order strawberry lemonade and popcorn shrimp. They ain't gonna do nuthin but take all your mutha****in cheese.

i say don't do it. i;m not familiar with handball but if it has any physical contact like basketball then you should wear a shirt just as common curtesy to the other players. if not then you will just come off as a doucebag or a showoff niether of which would attarct a decent girl. where has humility gone with this generation?
