A person who willfully tries really hard at school, is disappointed in themselves if they get an A instead of an A+, attempts to socialise by mimicking others actions and personalities (likes & dislikes), and then spites these "friends" if they get a higher mark on a paper, instead of the nerd.
you can say how long they spend at a comp :roll: moving on, and if they play d&g and crap like that, but a the end of the day its looks, the thick glasses, the braces oh the horror!!
Well, a large part of it is having thoughts, knowledge, way of life, or ideals that do not sit well with most people, but this does not bother them, and they are content living in their own small little comfortable world. Or at least that was how the nerd experience was with me.

Also, one must note that a nerd is not necessarily a deragatory phrase, as many of the most successful and best remembered people of this era have been nerds at one point or another. It must also be noted that the phrase itself has only been coined since the 50s, and given the rapid development of intellectual culture since that time, you can be sure that many of these same people that lived before this time could have been considered nerds or nerd types if they had lived today.
I don't believe in labels, I mean, people are so stupid when it comes to labeling someone, so to me, no one is a nerd, and there is no such thing as one.
