Let's just say that we don't kill ourselves off before we can evolve any further...

What do you think we would look and act like once we as a race are no longer humans, but instead the next evolutionary step?

I'm guessing our species will lose our remaining hair and maybe we will be able to speak using telepathy or maybe feelings and emotions will naturally be read by our peers with no need for words.

Well, our cranium seems to have become more prolate over the centuries, so I guess that trend has a good chance of continuing. Given enough time and barring any catastrophic event, the people of the future will look like a mix of Chinese and Indians... with prolate craniums.

in the nearer future, humans will evolve in 1,000 years into giants between 6ft and 7ft tall, while life-spans will have extended to 120 years.Spoiled by gadgets social skills, such as communicating and interacting with others, could be lost, along with emotions such as love, sympathy, trust and respect. People would become less able to care for others, or perform in teams.

It is pretty much impossible to determine what we as a species will evolve into, considering genetic mutations and events that happen in the natural world that effect population are both entirely random.

Well we can only work with pre-existing genes. Awesome traits like that probably wouldn't happen since the mutation(s) required for them are unlikely. I think we'll all become a bit taller due to better nutrition. Maybe a change in skin tone is possible given an increase in the amount of damage from UV rays.

I meant the causes of natural selection, not natural selection itself. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

No more real evolution since in developed countris it is guarateeed you won't die, and even in third world countries it's bad, but not terrible.

1. we'll be taller

2. more mixed race will be common

3. better immuniity to viruses of today

4. ???

Agreed. Many of our "weakest" still survive to procreate in modern day societies, especially in the West. Although I wouldn't suggest we're totally immune to the process, especially pending some major climate changing global event.

Yah I can see how unlikely that is.

That's a good question. I think mostly, we'll evolve to be more resistance to the AIDS virus since so many people are being killed off by it. Other than that, I don't see much evolution going. Evolution is when the fittest, the ones with the most desirable traits for living, survive. But we humans allow all kinds of people to live and prosper and reproduce. So Evolution really doesn't happen in any significant way.
