What do YOU think is the biggest problem currently plaguing America?

My civics teacher gave us a lecture today. He said that the largest problem in America is the large number of African American men abandoning their families. He says that's why the black populations is going down hill. If you are black, and this upsets you--I didn't say it. My teacher did. I don't want this to turn into a racist board.

Now I want to hear some other things. Please provide a description and evidence of your choice.

They passed a law that allows different races to marry now. As history progresses, more rights are given to more people. Eventually, gays WILL be allowed to marry. That will be a sad day. I actually heard on the news that 35% of todays black youth lives with both parents. Not including my black friends though.

But probably America's biggest problem to me is the growing influence of materialism. Closely followed by what I heard in a Bill Clinton speech, that "we're more concerned about our differences than what we have in common".

I will not stand to let this country's civilization go down the drain because someone thinks they are in love with a cat.

Well american people are losing freedoms by the day (more gun control laws, loss of freedom of speech in some ways, too much government regulation (or should i say control?)on private lives and businesses etc...). Also america is losing the value of the dollar (it is worth 4 cents compared to the dollar in 1913). The united states give money and weapons to foriegn countries to only have them turn around and start using them against the government that gave the weapons to them.The government is getting to powerful and is taking over peoples lives and controling them.

What happens to a country when people survive off of the government and the government fails? thats right the people have no way to provide for themselves (i am talking about health care). If you get your health care by businesses and the government fails you will still be able to be healthy.
