What do you think is the coolest job in the world? (Please take this seriously.)

Well, I'd have to say the Marines, my dad was in for 4 years and said it was the most fun he ever had in his life.

He got paid to shoot guns, got lots of benifits, a free place to live and eat, and one day the Leutenant came in said "Who wants to go on float for 6 months?" and all my dad had to do was raise his hand and had the funnest 6 months of his life, and got paid more money and earned medals for it. Now on this float he went on a ship and traveled the world for 6 months, went to 17 different countries, and performed in front of hundreds offforeign dignitaries and went to England, France, Italy, Greece, ETC.

Of course, you have to be really tough and make it through bootcamp, and you can't just up and go when you want, and war is very serious, of course. Of course I don't know much about the Marines compared to ACTUALLY REAL MARINES but obviously my dad tells alot, and the medals and awards and the pictures in my basement don't lie.

Also I thinkmaking moviesand video games would be awesome. Of course there is no job that is good for everyone, and all people are different, and jobs have their drawbacks, but itshard to argue with the MARINES especially if you work at McDonalds for a living or clean houses or something like that.

So what do you think is the most awesome job? EDIT: Also, being a GameSpot postateer for a living well, thats awesome!

I didn't say for FUN, but the best overall job.

For dictator, I could get a replica FX lightsaber, a black robe, and an apprentice, and force everyone to believe that I can actually use the force, and force the whole country to believe it is STARWARS!

Games tester sounds pretty damn cool to me. 8)

EDIT: having said that, I'd love a career in music. :P

Dudem you should work for Trent Reznor, if you love NIN so much why not specialize in it?

I have to admit, I am a little discuraged with the responses in this thread. Most of them have been along the line of "get rich doing nothin" or somthing insignificant to effecting the world on a positive basis.

What happened to kids growing up wanting to be scientist, doctors, and other respected professions that have positive impacts on people and society?

Nah, it's just one of the neat bonuses once you've been in for a while....I've been in for about 2 and a half years now and gotten to do alot of cool stuff.
