Convertibles are strictly for "looks" as far as I'm concerned. No convertible car has better performance than its hard-top counterpart. Convertible versions of cars are pretty much always heavier and crappier performance for handling, which is kind of ironic considering you're 'chopping the roof off'. As a car guy, I like how they look (only certain kinds....like Mercedes where it's a hard top that folds up, I HATE soft top cars), but I would never buy one.
