Been done my friend! Seen it and it's funny. Parent trolls are hilarious. Sarcasm about letting their kids play halo!

"Yes I would let my 17 year old play halo! I mean I want him to shoot up his school anyway!"

It's the best.

It wasn't halo I don't think. But just look at games like GTA there should be trolls. Kind of hard to find, but I unfortunately have not seen one parent troll as dumb as that in that context. Igun review is funny though.

I like how consumerism is part of the rating.

I actually agree with a lot of what they said about MWII. They even gave it 4 out of 5 stars. The game is rated M by ESRB and their rating is 17+. This site actually looks like an infpormative site for parents, instead of just "This game is evil because violence" that seems to be everywhere.

I don't have a problem with it actually. It could be a good tool for parents to use if they don't know much about video games and they want to know exactly what they're getting when they're buying their kid a game. The ESRB ratings are usually pretty vague and this site goes a little more in-depth.

I agree. I looked at some of their reviews and they seem valid if you consider that they are written for parents who might not always know what their kids want or if the game is age-appropriate.

It seems like a pretty good, objective, ratings site that could be a great tool for parents. I do find the rating on consumerism to be a little weird, though, and I'm kind of concerned with some of the parent user reviews I've read. Some of them are obviously trolls, but some sound serious. So when you juxtapose that seriousness with the atrocious grammar and spelling, I start to worry about the state of education. But I digress...

I think the site is fine.

Funny thing, though, I saw one guy who was reviewing a movie and his name was s***face. Funny stuff, funny stuff.

If I was a parent. This site looks pretty good, goes into the details unlike how games are portrayed in the media.

I think that depends on the parent, and the child. I oft times feel bad for the child with the overprotective parent, who censors the child form everything even remotely violent. The fact is , we live in a violent world, and every which way that you turn your head, there is more violence. I wish that this were not the case , but it is. That being said, I think it is important not to censor our children from video games as they will see much worse by turning on the TV and watching channel seven.

Censorship can lead to naivete

Well, call me crazy, but I think a group of parents caring enough to go into great detail about what may affect their children and relay that to other parents is a good idea. We think it's ridiculous because we don't need it, but as a guide that helps parents become aware of what their children play, I think it does a very important job.

Not a bad idea, and it is informative for parents with youngish children who don't know much about video games, but the site is way biased against video games. They have movies like the Departed for ages 15+ and then games like AC, COD, Mass Effect, labeled as NO KIDS. Makes no sense to me.

Hmm that does sound very inconsistent because The Departed should definitely be only for 17+ (R).

This. It's basically just a good reference source for parents who don't know anything about video games. People complain about kids on Xbox LIVE, or how kids today shouldn't be playing adult video games, yet they make fun of these sites? I don't get it.

Besides, for a good laugh, fundamentalist Christian game reviews are much funnier.

Most of them are crazy like that site, but there are 1 or 2 that are actually informative and honest, which I think is valuable.

Now that the ESRB has full-length descriptions on their site, though, they're a bit redundant.

I think some of them are soccer mom hate rally sites. however, i do appreciate that SOMEONE is keeping them informed on what their kids are playing. usually if a game is violent enough, it ends up on fox news (the mass effect incident comes to mind here), the news anchors bash it over every little thing, the actual gaming experts are shoved in back and ignored, and the soccer mom's get on their soap boxes and go "they shouldnt make games like these! even tho its my job to make sure that MY KID doesnt play these games, the developers just shouldnt make them!"

grrr... i hate stupid parents...

They hardly ever put no kids on movies. It seems that they consider video games worse than movies.

It's not really that there is a problem with that type of site, it's just that it is too biased to be a useful tool. ALL rated M games on the site are rated "no kids," (with the exception of halo) which really just defeats the purpose of what thesite is supposed to do:take the time to honestly rate each game by its content and give it an age rating.

I think they can be helpful in helping parents decide what is appropriate for their children to play.

I'm sorry, but giving MW2 even 1 out 5 stars for education value is just wrong. What in the world could anyone learn from an arcade shooter (note, I do like the game, but come on, let's be serious). I know there are most likely a lot of trolls on there, but the one thing that I noticed that gets me mad is all the people saying that COD is ok for kids 12 and over. This is the exact reason this game can really be horrible to play online, little kids are horrible at it and ruin the experience when they play.

Though, it's good to know Alice (from madness returns) is a 1 out of 5 star role model.

I think the site is good in a way, but at the same time it seems like it's controlled by people who don't know how to really judge what a game is (I didn't look at any of the other categories, but when they didn't have Sonata Arctica under music I just assume they pick the most mainstream stuff). The best way to judge something is to check out some gameplay footage online, which can usually give a pretty good indication of what the game will be like. For example, the gameplay footage of the new Deus Ex has lead me to conclude that the game will be nothing short of amazing.
