For American money at least. I couldn't care less, but I'm curious about what you have to say OT.

I don't have a problem with it, and if anyone does have a problem with it they need to reevaluate their lives and priorities.

What if it said, "In no God we trust" or "In many Gods we trust" and people wanted to remove that? Would those people need to reevaluate?

I wouldn't go so far as to insult anyone against it... It's not the 1800's there are many gods/religions and having christianity being the baldeagle of religions is getting a little droll. Were a little more open minded then to try and force an entire nations view on life...or are we...:o

I'm not insulting anyone over it, I just think getting up on arms on what your money says is just... dumb. No one is forcing their view on anyone, its just some writing on paper that's been there for years, and I think people getting offended over it is a symbol of over political correctness ruling our society.
Plus, seriously? If someone has the time to be offended over that, I just personally think they should focus on something else, like the election this year or poverty, or something less minor and dumb.

For me, I'm not "offended" by it, I just don't think it makes any sense for the government to endorse a religion, which it does do. Also the debate it cause is a good way to expose more religious Americans to the idea that their religious convictions might not be correct and general atheistic arguments.
I don't care. I see it in thousand dollar increments on a daily basis at work and it doesn't bother me.
I'm atheist and it's just a relic of days past. If people want to still believe that there's a god and he's moderating the US then let them. It has exactly zero impact on my life unless someone brings up the laughable argument that god is on our money.
[QUOTE="Nude_Dude"]Since it doesn't define which God it's referring to but 'God', there is really no problem with it. pdevil21
It endorses theism over atheism and I would also say that it probably endorses monotheism over polytheism.
EDIT: But really, I think we all know that it is endorsing Christianity.

"In God We Trust" isn't really an endorsement of religion though. Its more of a traditional writing, and considering how "God" is a being in many religions, its not an endorsement of any one religion, just a line that's been a part of dollar bills.
No one is more for separation of church and state then me, but trying to get a line removed on some money is just silly.
It's just one of those things printed on money: Doesn't mean a whole lot really unless you wanted to. I mean, on British banknotes it says that the Chief Cashier of the Bank of England promises to pay me £5, despite the fact that I'm already holding a £5 note.
It's silly that a secular nation has that on its currency.cheese_game619Yes, I find it strange that a nation which is very committed in keeping state and church separately, as well as having freedom of religion, deems it fit to have "In God we trust" on their currency.
I would rather have the under god line removed in the pledge instead of this.sSubZerOo
Shh...there are still Commies in this country we need to expose...

What if it said "In Allah We Trust"?

Oh well in that case I'd recommend using the language of the country. Which could soon be Dios.Well it was European protestants that fled to the United States from religious persecution in Europe. I think it's a statement of our countries roots, in essence a reason for it's existence. I think it's appropriate to have on our money. Plus we still are a highly Christian nation after all. ferrari2001
A few European Protestants feld to the new world to escape religious persecution. The vast majority of settlers, however, came to America because of its plentiful unclaimed land. And the reason why this country exists is because people got tired of paying taxes to a government they had no say in. And this country has written into its founding law a clause seperating church and state. And while having "In God We Trust" printed on our money isn't establishing a law, it is, I feel, skirting the line of seperation. The phrase has no business being on our currency and it's high time it was removed.
