I wouldn't chance it. Some companies are very defensive of their intellectual properties.Granted the name Gojira is also trademarked, but seeing as how that name's only really used in Asian versions of the Godzilla movies they may not be too concerned with a band using the name Gojira in the west.

Just looked it up, and yeah, the band Gojira was originally named Godzilla, but had to change the name due to a legal threat. Evidently they didn't mind the band using the name Gojira though.

I forgot to put it in my post that there's a French band named Gojira.
Horrible, horrible name. It sounds like you just wanted to combine two things you thought were cool as opposed to actually being creative with the band name.
I mean, what the hell does the name even mean? That Godzilla is now a robot? That doesn't even make sense. :?

*Flees thread*
to avoid issues, I have fixed it for you: Your band name is now, "large scaly mechanical monster with lights and attitude." No need to thank me.godzilla robot.

sounds like a bad crunk-core (is there good crunk-core, well no) band/group name, so i'd say it's not good. also, as others have said there would be some big legal issues.
Just sounds like 2 reasonably random words tbh.
And you're better off with Godzuki
...far cuter

Doesn't sound like you want people to take your band seriously when they hear your name. Unless of course you are going for a Tenacious D sort of thing I would recommend against it.
[QUOTE="Lonelynight"]What kind of music would the band be playing?dkdk999were playing very aggressive and loud metal with alot of techno and machine themes thats why we think its a good name.It sounds too generic.

It sounds rather generic to be honest. Plus, like I said, the name's trademarked by the Toho company, and they've shown in the past that they will take legal action to protect the name, so you're going to run into issues there.
well it's not creative but what band names are ?Horrible, horrible name. It sounds like you just wanted to combine two things you thought were cool as opposed to actually being creative with the band name.

I suggest, "Dismembered Fetus".Genetic_CodePhew! For a second I thought I saw 'Dismembered Baby'. That would of been awkward.
