Sorry to but in, but Obama is a US citizen. It's been proven. Regardless, Obama's birth certificate should be the least of peoples' concerns. The US is in very bad financial trouble. I know we're not hearing the full extent of the trouble we're in. When China and other countries start calling back for repayment of their loans to the US, things are going to get very interesting.

Not as much as many other governments. People complain about corruption and coverups here, but wait until you see most of the rest of the world.

But to answer the question, since people have such wild imaginations, they probably paint whatever they're hiding to be a lot more revealing, unraveling, and compelling than it actually is. But there are things that the government needs to hide in order to protect the state (and in many cases the people), and that's what we call state secrets or classified documents. I think people like to pick up on these kind of things and perceived anomalies and embellish them to suit thier own imagination or interests. And many times, it seems to work, sadly.
