I don't want to get my hopes up then be dissappointed like the lack of flying cars in 2008.
Ridiculous forms of MMORPG's where people pretty much live out their lives as a fictional character in a virtual world. Wait, that's already happening now. :)
Honestly though. I really think that eventually nobody's gonna have a desktop/laptop/game console and pretty much you're going to have a screen with a controller and the ability to play any game avaliable without having to worry if your machine supports it. Everything will be streamed strait from a server without any need for you to have anything to process the information on your end.
I guess simulated 3-d, with binocular-like module that you look into, but it only shows red. So you can play Tennis and stuff. And it gives you headaches.
Oh, wait...
Pretty much the same to be honest. People like the familiar.

yes but we have come a long way since the Atari 2600. Technology seems to be moving really fast in the videogame world. In 20 years we may be shocked with what we have looking back at today and predicting.
We might not have games. Most of us might be vaporized and the few remaining desperately trying to survive each day amongst a world of lawlessness and insanity.-TheSecondSign-

Yeah, actually, it would be interesting to survive, I think I would do quite well in such a situation (Or at least, better than the average person), if I survived the incident that murdered 5 and a half billion people.
