(answer below) Well, for a while I always thought it was pong or something, but then I watched something on G4tv that said the first game ever made was a tic-tac-toe game on a computer, made by students at a university. And that was wrong, too, aparently... So I guess no one will ever know when the very first VG was ever made. But I just learned that William Higinbotham created the first video game ever in 1958. His game, called "Tennis for Two," was created and played on a Brookhaven National Laboratory oscilloscope. Just a little cool fact I thought I'd share :)mike_me
I thought Tennis for Two and Pong were the same thing? Weren't they?
Tennis for two was a simplified version of Pong. Pong was actually an arcade version released shortly thereafter, with more programming. For example, pong's paddles could change the direction of the ball dependant on how you hit it, in Tennis you control the movement with the control.
Pong, however, was far more popular.
This is, if i remember correctly...i remember watching something on it
Its none of the above because the first videogame was either Spacewar by Steve Russell or pong by William Higinbotham... the dates as to when these two games where made vary from source to source, but they where both made around the some tin=me by two different people Who never meet on another in thier lives.
SpaceWar
Pong
