What ever happened to Saturday Morning Cartoons :(

So I woke up this morning, and having nothing really going on I was, hey, I'll watch some Saturday morning cartoons like when I was a kid. I used to love waking up every morning to watch shows like Pokemon, Digimon, Superman, Batman Beyond, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Yugioh, and several others that were on every Saturday. I go to turn on my TV, and serious the only channels that still have a "Saturday Morning Cartoon Block" are cartoon network (surprise there *rolls eyes*) and the CW channel, except the CW channel seriously has like only 2 shows they show for like 4 hours! This totally bummed be out and left me to ask what the hell happened to all the awesome Saturday morning cartoon blocks?! Has anyone else noticed this, and any reasons why they've pulled the plug on this awesome weekly even would be appreciated?

yeah yugioh is still on in the morning, but it isn't the same. there isn't an actual saturday morning event for it like there used to be. And again just 2 shows?! really!

I miss the Fox Kids Club... There was the Saturday morning I grew up with. It sickens and saddens me to see that our new generation is without a proper cartoon block... I guess it's better they have nothing though, cause before saturday morning cartoons died, they released a ton of horrific crap that can't even be considered animation IMO.

They're pretty much dead now, I used to watch cartoons on most Saturdays too.

That's a good point, the shows did start getting kind of bad, but I surprised they decided to kill the Saturday Morning Block, rather then just replace the crappy shows :/

Yes we were, it was shows like that which made me want to be Cartoonist when I grew up. That used to be my dream. Maybe I'll finally actually do it, and then I can bring back decent cartoons to Saturday morning. Somebody's gotta save this generation from boring saturday paid programming.

TV networks are not even trying to show good cartoons on tv anymore. They justair anything decent enough and show it for 2-3 hours. Man i miss the good cartoons they used to show. Times hve changed.

I remember when there were hour blocks of Digimon, Beast Wars, Jackie Chan Adventures, and Yugioh!. I guess that stuff's popular now.BranKetra

When i was a kid we had Transformers, GI:Joe and Thundercats.

Now we have stuff like Transformers : DinoThunder Mechazoid Technobots.

yup i remember watching all those cartoons when i was a kid. i love pokemon so much back then and digimon that i learn how to use my VCR to record the shows.

but to answer your question i think what happened is that WE use to watch them. now we all are grown up and they are less kids watching TV or watching cartoons.

like cartoon net work i hate now there like nick jr boring as kid shows that give me headaches and a lot of good cartoons got replaced by those kid learning shows which pissed me off

I miss the old stuff (not just TV) in general? Anyone remember Beyblades? Or those old robot toys with the remote controls? Oh god I can't remember the name, there was that mostly blue one, with the red face. The mostly green one with the silver on it's face. They could like vertically punch, or shoot a laser at each other. They had switches on their backs? This ring a bell with a name to anybody? Those things were pretty badass
