What exactly is expected to happen in the year 2012?

I thought that they thought our world was supposed to just start falling apart, like floods, hot sun, etc. Is this what they expect or do they think some apocolypse is supposed to happen, like on the simpsons where there are flying horses and fire and BOOM BOOM BOOM ! BOOM BOOM POW! BOOM BOOM BOOM, gotta get that BOOM BOOM BOOM

I'm pretty sure most people expect nothing. I think the people in tin foil hats expect another planet called Nibiru to crash into Earth.

My best guess is "it will be the end of the world" because Microsoft will be releasing their next operating system? It will demand so much power from computers, that it will cause an international network crash and the world will end. :P

AHAHAHAH.... lol what a ridiculous theory. the one everyone seems to be fussing about is either the earths axis (i believe) moving and the poles moving to the pacific ocean and africa moving to where the north pole was and so on, or planet x as part of its eleptical orbit, passing around the sun and because of how large it is it wreaks havok on earth and pretty much screws everything up.

ive never heard any scientist talking about another planet actually hitting earth. theres also another idea where all the planets align on dec 21st and because of their grvatational pull on earth, yet again... havok is wreaked xD.

ANNNND THENNNN..... all the 360's will RROD at the same time, causing a shift in the WTF spectrum and create blasts the size of A Bombs. The Wii's motion controls will also learn flight somehow and hit people on the head causing ouchies. And to end it all off, the PS3's blu ray disc drivewill suddenly be relised for what it is, a blu laser beam, or ray, that can destroy an entire unvierse powered by teh power of the cell!
