I wouldn't mind a punk and grunge revival. Punk isn't what it used to be like it was in the late 70's and early 80's, and I feel grunge died off too soon.

Funny, I was just thinking this because I just replied to a thread on the PC forum as someone linked this. I think it's a sign. +1 for disco.

industrial. because sadly it's turned into techno.

Well 1st generation industrial was fairly electronic in roots I suppose. 2nd gen/post industrial Young Gods/Ministry/etc I guess is something we don't see as much of these days...
of course. i'm talking about this new age of processed club stuff we have come to call "industrial" for whatever reason. people like Faderhead, [x]-rx, eisenfunk, noisuf-x, and Komor Kommando to name a few. i miss the days of real experimentation in the genre.
Howabout rock and roll. Not this linkin park and rise against BS. I want the raw rock and roll like GNR brought in the late 80's.
Prog rock also. Genesis is one of my favorite bands (Gabriel era). I would love to see a prog revival.
Ah I've no idea about modern industrial. Kind of lost interest back in the 90s for me. It's true we don't see so much in the way of ye olde stuff though, or at least nothing's caught my eye recently.
I will however chuck in the new(ish) Youn Gods album Everybody Knows, which whilst I personally like it the main critisism I read was that it was perhaps too 'stuck in the past'.
Swing... for sure.

it's sort of back with electro swing, which is pretty neat.
I'd like to see trip-hop come back, but idk if it was ever really in so it would be nice to see more people listen to it.
Luckily, Imelda May has helped make 50s style rock/rockabilly a bit more popular again.
OP, Grunge is NOT a genre. It was a term made up by the media to label all the bands coming out of Seattle in the late 80's and early 90's. Nirvana was punk, Pearl Jam was Alternative, Alice in Chains was metal etc...So anyway to answer your question, I say that Punk rock should make a comeback but it won't ever happen. Nirvana was punks final hurrah

With that argument punk is not a genre, being traditionally retrospective 3-chord rock in nature and given the term by whatever journalist (can't recall who) sometime in the early 70s if I recall.
EDIT: Dave Marsh in 1971 coined it...
Disco is still alive in house and electro. =P No one read my thread >=(
I'm going to say the quality of trance from about 2000-2004 should make a come back.
Genuine country music. There is absolutely nothing that I have liked over the past 10-20 years.

You haven't been looking hard enough.
if you want punk like misfits style id look into murderdolls or wednesday 13. and i epicly facepalm at the guy who said "nu-disco". but no some new disco artists would take out see how mullets and such seem to be in style again (lawl wut?) alot of dubsteb and techno is taking off now as well.anything new would work but disco may hit the biggest
I'm SHOCKED it hasn't. I'm a huge oldies fan so obviously listen to a lot of motown. The Supremes and Martha and the Vandellas hits could come out today and still sound current.Motown!
Smooth voices, catchy music, excellent lyrics, and easy to listen to!
