They still seem to have a fair bit of interesting history stuff, was just watching something about Rome today...yeah it is getting a lot of crap lately, but not THAT much...:s

He had me in stitches last weekend. Bill Engvall and Jeff Foxworthy gave him hell too.

He did go to college for a while and actually grew up on a pig farm, in Nebraska.

You forgot to add "The Mayans met the aliens!" I still remember the days when they had Tales of the Gun and World at War. -sigh- Those days are long gone now. Anyone remember the name of the series they used to air early in the morning on Saturdays? It was all old WW2 newsreel footage and was put together during the war. I'm blanking on the name of it.

I'd rather watch that then the constant Nostradumb*** and Mayan stuff (if I was forced to watch either/or.)

I shall explain again. The ***** responsible for ruining the History Channel is this....thing.

Nancy Dubuc signed on as head of THC some years ago, and it's only her latest conquest. She is known for bringing in viewers by introducing lame-ass reality shows that draw suckers in. She's also responsible for ruining A&E. For all intents and purposes, she is a ratings-whore.

They've played a show called "Generation Kill" a few times over the past few weeks. It reminds me of Jarhead, but more interesting.
Its both slow and uneventful, and hilarious and interesting. :P

Aside from Pawn Stars and American Pickers... Even if they're fake... There's not too much on the History Channel anymore. :(

I dunno, but all I like on there is Pawn Stars, Americans Pickers, and Modern Marvels.

It does still have some great shows but yes I agree something has happened to the history channel.

Even the shows that make attempts at actual history are terrible.

The last time I watched History was when they started to show Top Gear USA....I wasn't impressed.

I only watch The Discovery Channel for The World Rally Championship.

Agreed, what's the point of those ghost shows? You never see anything. It's basically guys hanging out in some decrepit building stopping and going "What was that?" or "I think I saw something over there (camera looks, and nothing to see)"

The guys pretty greedy when it comes to bussiness buts its fun to watch to see all the cool stuff that comes in and have the expert reveal how much its worth. If I had something cool id go show it to Hos (or whatever his name is) to have him bring in a guy to reveal its worth, then just sell it on ebay.

I really just watch the Military Channel.

History, Discovery & Learning Channels were the only real reason I'd ever watch TV. They al blow goats now since their programmng started heading south.

I agree, most of it is just dumb reality shows. All that's good is Pawn Stars (which is a fantastic show) and American Pickers is alright. Additionaly, I've been noticing that the same thing is happening to Discovery Channel. Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters are really its only good shows. Of the ones that are still running, anyways.

If anybody cares to know, the majority of the history stuff (Dogfights, Patton 360, etc) moved from The History Channel to History Channel International. If you have the package with The Military Channel, you also get History Channel International.

History isn't important anymore and it's very unappreciated these days.

This covers not only the viewers of the History Channel but the entire United States.
