What if Aliens came to us and...

well, Imagine this hypothetical situation just for fun

what if superior aliens beings came to Earth peacefully and all and then we learn about them

and then we discover they have religions too that worship some form of a God similar to our religions

what would your thoughts be on such situation?

I am saying this, because plenty believe if aliens exist then it proves that religions like Christianity are wrong, but will this situation proves anything?

that makes no sense to me.

They're probably more civizlied than us anyways.

I think all highly intelligent life would at some point come to the conclusion during the times of their more primitive culture that a divine life form is the reasoning for their origin.

Being able to travel all the way to our little planet means we' re talking about a super-advanced race(compared to us at least) that could potentially attempt to impose their beliefs on us. Their atheism or their "true" god. Our own beliefs could very well be perceived as blasphemy by them and demand to officially reject them, leading to an all open war!

If we were actually visited by aliens, we'd be so technologically inferior, that we'd be either ignored or killed.

I can assume that the notion of a "God" would vanish then, if multiple species belive in something that created them all, and they are intelligent, I assume that the logical notion would be what was once a God because it was only One civilization will turn into a noiton of an older species, a forerunner to the species all known.

It is only a thought ofcourse, but magic is only magic untill it can be explained, and a God is only a God as long as it is vague, if multiple species all over the Universe belived in something similar, then I doub't that the notion of it being a god will stand for long.

Well in the end it would simply mean that what has been seen as a God will just have a name change, and a slight alteration of perception.

I doubt that any Religiouslly Ideal of that like the Bible would last going into space on a whole, due to the known facts about it, and the somewhat obsurd writings of things such as Hell.

Other parts of such holy books might survive, some of the fundemental morals and ethics might survive, in some form.

But given how even now much of the Bible is outright dismissed as fairytales and worse, It would be safe to assume that IF such a thing were to happen, the end result would be no religion anyone would recognize.

they have no interaction with eachother, they don't even know that the other tribe exists.  For all they know, their respective little islands full of sand and trees and coconuts and pigs and little brown people in loincloths is all that exists.

Then one day the other tribe shows up in a big boat and shows them Religion B.

This had happened, many times, in Earth's history (obviously under different scenarios, but whatever).  Is that really so different than an alien showing up going "Hey, we got God too, guys!"

i also am not religious so the existance of aliens would just be a scientific thing
