What would you do and what is gonna happen to the world!mohan88
I wouldn't give a damn, because games are stupid.
Seriously, sometimes I wonder why gamers don't actually listen to what they're saying. They remind me of those KKK members who are always crying because they think the liberals and blacks are trying to eliminate whites.
I mean, come on. The videogame industry is not only more respected now than it's ever been, but the revenue generated from videogames rivals that of the movie industry. Why in the bloody hell are gamers afraid? What in the bloody hell makes them think that such a large industry would be severely restricted like that, ESPECIALLY after they're now starting to be respected by an ever larger segment of the general population?
Public talk about controversially violent videogames is a REACTION to how acceptable gaming has become. It's fearmongering designed to get attention. And that's it. This talk is almost exclusively reserved for popular games, never crappy POS games that only stupid people like. The reason people talk about THOSE games is because THEY ARE POPULAR. If they were talking about Spawn: The Game, no one would give a ****. So they mention titles like Halo, GTA, and the Sims because people will then say "hey, I either played that game or heard about it. I think I'll tune in to see what the controversy is about."
And that's all it's about. Ratings and publicity. Nothing will ever come of people trying to get rid of videogames. Because a hell of a lot of voters LOVE playing GTA and Doom, and the people who don't mostly don't give a **** about games. If you want these people to stop their anti-games crusades, then stop giving these people the attention that they seek. Videogames still make BILLIONS of dollars in profits because people WANT THEM. The only way violent videogames could ever possibly be banned is if people stop buying them. Which is never going to happen (at least, not on moral grounds).
So knock it off. Quit crying about how people are trying to take away your games, because that really just sounds silly and ignorant. And you'd be better off ignoring every dumbass thing that dumbasses like Jack Thompson say, because that just encourages them. If people ignore them, they will STHU.
And even in the EXTREMELY unlikely case that violent videogames get banned, so what? They're freaking videogames. So you can't play "Torture Fantasy 17" any more. So what? Get off the damn couch and go do something outside.

My thoughts exactly. The question waas "What if M Rated games get banned" not " What is your veiw on the gaming industry as a whole and the chance that violent video games might be censored in the future"[QUOTE="TheLastNight"]I personally don't care. Same here, but they cant ban them for us adults only for kids.Banning them for us would violate our rights.
[QUOTE="whos_next000"]I would be a sad man. :(mohan88You play Pokemon games don't you? Sometimes. I play MGS and Halo and Max Payne and GTA stuff, too, though. But mostly, I just love mudkips.
[QUOTE="XheavensmileX"]The good M-rated games would likely just have reduced violent content to make it T-rated. Besides if a game isnt fun without very violent content then it isnt a good game anyway.Def_Jef88Manhunt, GTA, MGS.... :|I think those games would be awesome even without very violent content but Yeah, Cant imagine GTA with T-rated content.

GTA would really suck without violent content. MGS could probably survive without blood, though. That might knock it down to T.

Nobody's taking my Company of Heroes away, dammit! I especially love when a poor german takes a direct artillery hit.fidosimSame here. If M rated games where banned, say hello to a M-rated games pirate industry, Congress :P. And, it would make them like drugs-more desirable because they are banned.
