Come up with a better idea for a religious discussion.
It is widely acknowledged that it is quite likely that 'Jesus' did exist. EVEN by the scientific and historic community.
The bible was written by numerous people, and compiled by the church.
And finally, What if? It's not going to stop people believing in him.
[QUOTE="GamerBoy53"]Like for example how could we be sure that Jesus even existed??? duxup
In general you'll find most historians would agree that he existed, son of god... that's up for debate, but the dude seems to have existed.
Why do you need that many question marks???Blood-ScribeHaven't you noticed??? I always use 3 question marks after a sentence. It's my trademark. I'm the only person I've seen in the forums who does that.

Most historians will tell you that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Three people and an emo. and I'm all that and more...in my HEAD!Good moral = lots of people who get tormented by an invicible deity?[QUOTE="Genetic_Code"]People would take from it what is moral and just and discard the rest as perhaps a fairy tale with a good moral.Deihjan
Job, anyone?
*Looks around*I don't see these people getting mauled by the vicious deity... where are these people?

The moral is that if you swear to follow someone even when they crap all over you, they will in fact crap all over you.

Hey, God thinks He was right. Who am I to question His judgement?
I just look at what I like and let people interpret it however they like to, although there are sometimes when I cross a line and criticize their views.

but it isnt a good moral... and Adam and Eve.. they were thrown out of the garden of eden. I thought God was a merciful god, who FORGAVE people of their sins. Or was that only when Jesus exsisted, meaning AFTER Adam and Eve ?I'd say the character existed. What's more up for debate IMO is the divinity of this so called "Son of God"
lol

Or was that only when Jesus exsisted, meaning AFTER Adam and Eve ?It is a good moral in that it teaches you a lot about life. And the moral of Adam and Eve is that even if you love your children you can still toss their asses to the streets if they start doing drugs and listening to rock'n roll.
But those statements arent good D= You can't throw people out just because they start doing drugs. You have to help them, lend them a hand..be merciful. It is a good moral in that it teaches you a lot about life. And how is turning the other cheek and getting slapped again a GOOD moral?

CAN and HAVE buddy. And it's a good moral in that it teaches you maybe turning the other cheek to the man that just slapped you will likely result in another swelled and bruised cheek.
