Think about this: When your were born, your mind was injected into a computer simulation program. This program is the life your currently living today. Once you die, you exit this simulation and then you live your REAL life! None of the people in your simulation are real and this is all an elaborate lie that prepares you for the futuristic advanced "real" world! I'm not even real. Your family isn't real. No actually I would be quite ecstatic to find out that everything in my "life" was a complete fabrication.

The question is if technology can truly make something aware of themselves. In MGS4 with it's psychological AI stuff, the soldiers are still unaware of themselves. If one day, that happens. Then, perhaps that could be the case....Perhaps. It's almost like creationism, scientists are already doing stuff with synthetic organisms that evolve...Maybe, somewhere out there someone created our pre forms. And maybe, someone out there, a person really enjoyed making simulated reality programs where the AI is aware of itself.

It's possible. Theoretically. Two of the degrees I'm going for are religion and philosophy, so when I think about stuff like the Matrix, I get really into it. I believe in the possibilities of things (which is why I'm not religious), so I start to freak out if I think about it too much. It's just really amazing when you think about all the possibilities in our lives.muthsera666
